Go XBOX 36 !

in all seriousness, people underestimate the graphical power of the 360....Its definitely NOT maxed out yet...

I'll believe that when I see it. Sites that specialize at graphical comparasing still say that Gears of War 2 is the best looking title for Xbox 360. Both Killzone 2 and Uncharted 2 are still ahead of anything you can find on Xbox today.

ME2 is an advanced UE3 that GEARS 2 was built on. It has more features and better sets of everything. Most people will tell you ME2 is quite alot better visually than Gears 2. Also Alan Wake, Splinter Cell and Halo Reach all look even better again. The 360 is and was never near maxed with Gears 2. I bet Gears 3 and Crysis 2 on 360 destroy Gears 2 to look like an old Xbox 1 title. Such is the difference.

Well from all your threads I've seen, you tend to overhype everything through the roof. I've played ME2 on PC on max details and while I loved the art direction and presentation, I wasn't impressed on the technical side (don't get me wrong, it was great, but not mindblowing).

If I were you, I'd wait to see those games in motion, on release day. A lot has been said about Forza 3 visuals, yet the visuals of the final release were a huge disappointment for many. But that doesn't go just for Xbox games, that goes for every single title. Many things looks incredible from shots or even movies, yet the final product can be quiete different, especially when you get the chance to explore everything yourself.

Totally agree. The first time I played KZ2 I was actually underwhelmed because of the hype. I know I can hype alot. But it works both ways. In terms of consoles ME2 has a presentation on a level of it's own. PC is a different market. Also Ive noticed on the PC version of ME2 you can see graphical glitches more. Dont know why, but they look different from 360's version.

I can agree with Uncharted 2, that game has great, great graphics. But not Killzone 2, it's so stylized that it's like saying X cel shaded game has better graphics. The polycounts in KZ2 aren't anything special, the textures are lower res and blurry in a lot of spots, it's the art direction that makes KZ2 stand out. It's not in the same league, graphically, as Gears 2 or Uncharted 2 or GT5 or Forza 3, where everything is high detail, and doesn't compromise.

People also forget that these Xbox games have had, for the most part, 2 year dev cycles, while almost all the PS3 titles you can name (God of War III, GT5, Killzone 2, Heavy Rain) have had double that. It's like expecting that, I don't know... Serenity, the Josh Whedon movie, have cgi as good as Star Wars - it can't, it took less money and less time to make. If you give me 1 month to do a model, I will do it, but if you give me 2 months, I will do it better, it's just how it works.

Which just makes Naughty Dog even more relevant, they managed to knock U2 out 2 years after the first one. Of course, it helps that they had the funding to form the internal Sony ICE team, but still, very impressive.

There's a reason PS3 is particularly strong now, and that's because they took forever to release some of these titles. So now they are (graphically) very strong because they have had the time to understand the system, the flipside of that is that the PS3 catalogue was very behind the 360 one for the first few years of the gen.

Isn't Wingnut kaput?

Halo: Chronicles is, Wingnut is still working on one unannounced project.

So it seems they are in the process of expanding like a lot of people condemned them for not doing. I guess they never announced what they were doing so people interpretted that as doing nothing.

The real question is what they are going to do after 2010, what focus will they have? In any case I suspect we might have 2-4 games announced from first party studios this coming E3.

I was reading on neoGaf how MS finally learned that buying studios was not the best due to a lot of the big talent leaving whenever they make the aquisition and it is no longer the same.  So that is why they are now building up their own studios.

Its unfortunately the case, a lot of companies are started up and joined by people who don't want a big corporate structure. Then when you enforce it upon them they leave.

Hopefully their game is revealed at the X10 event!

That's because Sony bought so many in the PS2 heyday...M$ should have either bought out Bioware, or establish some long term development contract with them, imho.

Idk it good that their building up their internal studios but I think they need to own a few more development houses also

I don't know what you're seeing, but ok, to each their own. For me, Killzone 2's lighting is what really stands out. I've seen a few poor effects here and there, and a few low res textures (which aren't even noticeable unless you get too close), but most of what I've seen in the game is second to only Uncharted 2, honestly (on consoles, of course).
