Besides the rumors of another Wii in development the Unreal Engine 4 is going to be released in 2012 for consoles ONLY! which means that most likely that there is going to be a PS4/Nextbox by 2012. Note it could come sooner...

10 year life. Sony never came close to their 150,000,000 PS3 sales goal. 2016 is a big stretch. They shold launch on the same day as Nintendo's next console.

you guys will never understand that 10 years doesn't mean that next console will come in 10 years .It means that the console will be on market for 10 years.just like PS2 came out 5 years after PS1 and PS1 was still on market.then PS3 came out 6 years later but PS2 is still on market.

10 years means PS3 will be discontinued in 10 years .

I for one want to make you eat your words and say that your prediction will not come true. Anyway why November launch? There 12 months in the year. "2012 or 2013 for the launch of all three new console systems in the same year".

It is all rumour/speculation at the moment and we have heard a lot of that over the years. We will all be waiting for Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo to announce the existence of a new console system at an upcoming E3 show. I believe E3 2011 will be the earliest time a new system is announced. E3 is the biggest game show of the year and gets the most media exposure.

It would not surprise me if this generation goes longer than previous generations, before new systems are launched. The current systems are selling well and all have plenty of life left in them. PS3 and 360 need to make more profits to recoup the losses incurred this generation. A new system costs a lot of money to plan, develop, test, mass produce and market to the world.

I think it's obviously clear that toasty is using the console launch order we had back in '05 and '06 with xbox 360, then ps3 & wii.

But things have changed, haven't they? Nintendo can afford to launch a new console first. MS and sony are obviously trying as hard as they can to break even before a new console cycle starts. Not to mention the industry isn't caught up with the tech just yet, and so many devs have gone out of buisness.

A launch that prematurely in 2011 would spell doom for the industry, with EA losing even more money, and activision only relying on Call of Duties to make money, lol. Obviously, the Wii can have an HD upgrade, but the xbox and playstation can only add motion control and they are doing that with natal and the arc or whatever it's called.

I'm calling a new xbox/playstation launch in 2012/13. With a good possibility of an HD wii in 2011.
