How long is this game supposed to be?

I have some more awesome pics.

I made a new album for them, so I will just link that instead... but there are spoilers in it (2 pics in particular of the same spoiler)

http://www.vgchartz.com/photos/album.php?album=3063

Here is my explanation of the pics in the album:

AWESOME SQUID <--> SPERM WHALE FIGHT!!
-Also in the album is a pic of the hatched blotchy swell sharks (I put an image of an egg in the other album)
-An enormous sturgeon (it's one of the special unique species in the game, in the old game there were the white whale and the huge scarred white shark as unique animals... there seem to be about 10-15 in this game going by the missing spaces in the back of the fish encyclopedia)
-A pretty little white crab (also a unique species)
-A seal (I think it was called a monkfish seal, something like that)
-My dolphin buddy swimming up underneath some ice floes
-The Aurora Borealis
-A group of Mantas
-2 close ups of some river species that I can't remember the names of

It that your dolphin buddy in the whale vs squid battle pic?  In game confirmed.  Does it repeat then?

That's up to how you really.   I'm still playing the original about 35hrs in, finished the story but this game isn't about the story, that's just supplimental, it's about the exploration and I'm still finding 1-2 new species on most dives, still getting photo requests and dive missions, still have a number of species to find and only about 1/3 of the treasures (although that's really optional).   So it depends on how much of a completionist you are and if you just love to dive you can dive endlessly.   psisheep reported clocked over 800 hours in the game.  Yeah, I dunno how he does it either.

I cannot wait to get it. Don't understand why it took so long to come out in america. Weird.

Proud owner and supporter of the YAKUZA games!

Beautiful graphics. Damn, another game to buy :S

How's the music? The same japanese ladies singing? Can you play music from the SD?

This game's bigger than the original. Believe me, there's an insane amount of stuff to do. I keep getting sidetracked non-stop.

@ Soma, Japanese ladies? The one from EO1 was Haley Westenra, she's not Japanese. This time around, it's from Celtic Woman. It's... similar. Really good. See the 1st few pages of this thread for some more info in the music.

Wow, I love these types of games. Now I kinda wish I had a Wii.

I personally have spent 120 hours on the first game, I recently (just before this new one released) found the final species and completed the guide to marine life (214 species in total) I have not found all the treasures but that is because some are randomly appearing so you have to scour around just to have a chance of them appearing, I don't think that is worth it... this sequel definately fixes the treasure hunting bit. I also haven't recieved all the diving apparel that you can collect, the remaining ones generally need me to do more diving guide and photo requests (which are literally endless)

This game has over 300 species (I can't remember the exact figure) and more areas to explore, many many more things to do, and enviroment is designed much better... a lot of the underwater in the original was kind of "samey" in places, wheras even just looking at the first area you are put in (which has the same kind of enviroment as the original game had for 90% of it's map) you can see the much bigger variety in the shapes and placement of the rocky and coral areas.

Thanks.

This and NSMBW have sparked my interest. It may not be long until I get a Wii.
