I guess we're going after China because of how they artificially keep their currency down... but can the US really complain about other countries modifying their currencies when the US gains from our currency being the world wide standard?

I mean, it seems disenginious to me when we constantly fight the establishment of an international currency not tied to any nation.

As I recall, the Chinese keep their currency down because the Dollar doesn't seem to be so strong anymore at this point. They see it as compensation.

I'd like to ask the question - when, if ever, will the world switch to a new currency? Possibly the Yuan or the Euro?

Is this the government complaining, or the citizens?

The government... Obama vowed to make sure no government's currency had an unfair and unnatural advantage over ours criticizing China mostly.

Really though I left out Obama to try and see peoples real opinions on the matter rather then having people take up issues based on party lines.

I think we can rightfully complain about the deflation of the Yuan.

China controls their currency more than any other. It is not tied to all currencies like the dollar, Euro, pound and others are. Because of that, it is undervalued by approximately 20-30%. That allows other counties to buy goods in China for less than they should cost, giving them an economic advantage.

So yes, I think that its fair for the US to complain about other currencies. Yes, we've had some advantages with the dollar being the de-facto reserve currency, but when others aren't playing fair while we are, its a problem.
