I AM OWED AN APOLOGY!!!!!

Vaio... youre one of the people I expect it from after that "Sony lost 1 billion in revenue" thread

From me for what? link to what i said that you want an appology for and u will get it if it´s warranted.

Since we are talking about old threads you still havent answered the one about offside wich you had no clue about so while you are at it go to work on that one too

Lol I know what offside is.

A player is not in an offside position if:

  • he is in his own half of the field of play
  • he is level with the second last opponent
  • he is level with the last two opponents

Like I said... it has everything to do with the defenders. Why respond when I know youre wrong?

Thats not what you said!

This is what you said:

letsdance said:

You cant be closer to the goal line then the closest defender unless the ball is passed the defender... yes it has everything to do with the ball and defender position

and that is wrong.

same thing different wording.

not even close, an attacker can pass or be closer to the goal line then the defender before the ball passes the defender, the ball passing the defender has nothing to do with offside.

http://www.gamedaily.com/articles/news/ps3-will-pass-xbox-360-says-sony-executive/ sony said it there sef. Sony only at 31 million Micrsoft is at 39million systems sold

ethomaz

They werent on the shelves the were sold by sony to retailers. In January consoles on the store shelves were from November shipments. The December shipments are just arriving in stores. Unless it is terrible shortage time like Nintendo had with the Wii they ship consoles on huge container ships. It takes awhile to load, transport, unload and distribute those consoles. PS3 should also have more than 360 because the PS3 sells far more in Japan.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

Regardless of how Sony is counting shipped units everyone here is neglecting to take into account one very important fact. Sony did not lower their projected shipment forecast. Shipments are currently 10.8 million, 2.2 million shy of their projection. Does anyone here honestly believe that they would even have a chance of meeting that if there is over 2.8 million PS3s in the pipeline? If that were the case they would struggle to even reach 12 million, let alone 13. Face it, it's undertracked. Source and ioi themselves have admitted that they're missing data for other others (Mainland Asia, Middle East, Oceania, Africa). VGChartz Hardware data for the period 12th Dec 2004 to 02nd Jan 2010: Console PS3 Other 1,497,962 Middle East sales are at 450k. Extrapolated from Wii sales and amount of time on the market South Korean sales are probably somewhere in the area of 300k. Do you really think there are only about 800k units sold throughout the rest of Asia, Oceania, and Africa? It's probably that much with just India and China. :edit: WTH? Proudest Platinums:
1. Gran Turismo 5
2. Persona 4 Arena
3. Wipeout HD
4. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2
5. Super Street Fighter 4

good point. And I know my area has shortages of Ps3's. We only have 2 in stock which we got yesterday! And I said something about buying a slim last week and my boss said "we've been out of stock of those" and I had to double check. So... obviously sony is still shipping them out.

It's a good thing you brought this up.

Sony's current estimate for shipment for the fiscal year is 13 million.

To present, VGC has the amount sold as 11.3 million for the fiscal year.

Seemingly, VGC is very close to the Sony estimate as there are still two months left in the fiscal year. If the PS3 does about 200k per week, then that would add about 1.8 million to the total, which would be slightly above 13 million.

How many people are going to give VGC credit for being so close to Sony's own estimate?

Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.

@Grimes

Sony will probably ships more than your estimate for fiscal year... I expect something between 13.5 and 14 million.

Wait the fiscal year report.

Sony's estimate is 13 million. You can guess whatever you want, but that's the number they have given.

And Regardless Sony has said they have sold 31 million consoles.

So... you know.  Until Sony says otherwise.

this is getting beyond stupid now, I am sorry folks lots of us have pointed out the flaws of adjusting down the ps3 sales, and it is not just ps3 owners, some of them are multiple console owners, there is now way that there was nearly 3 million ps3's hanging around at the end of the busiest time of the year, quit denying it and adjust those figures!!
