Some people here need to relax. It's just numbers, and if ioi or anyone else feels they are wrong they will re-adjust the numbers again. PS3 will most likely take 360's spot by the holidays or sometime early in 2011 so chill out.

Either way Sony lost money on the PS3, and that of course is not good.

Or tracking sales after Slim BOOM became harder and most inaccurate. Because this the tracking services may be a little confused.

After all it was a holiday hell.

Just like to point out that though I am one savage PS3 fanboy, I don't really care what VG Charts have the sales figures as because in the end, the PS3 will speak for itself, the gap will shrink in the coming months and then there will be no dispute.
We all know that unless there is a massive upheaval from Microsoft, the PS3 is set to overtake in the long run!
I for one will be looking at the stats that come directly from the companies and if VG Charts becomes inaccurate, It's a stain on their reputation, not mine and I hold nothing against them for it.
I will still come here and Kotaku for my news and their weekly reports will just be as valid as they ever were.
This debate is futile, VG Charts will do what they think is best!

thats waht has happened here xbox also took a hit downwards and u dont see their fans killing the forums, thats what i tried to say in my first post and yes there are idiots on all sides but this time you can clearly see that there are more ps3 fans killing the forums even though xbox also got big adjustments downwards

Well, the PS numbers are a lot more skeptical (though still believable), and as the Xbox people say, there are a billion more PS fans on these forums than Xbox fans. Explains everything.

Lol, people still don't understand the difference between shipped and sold. No im not talking about sold by retailers, im talking about sold by Sony. If there is a shortage at retail then obviously that means a lot of sales are coming through. Sales which Sony writes up in their financial reports. They haven't given shipped numbers in a while now.

There could be absolutely no PS3s in any store in any part of the world and the difference between retail sales and Sony's sales to retailers could still be over 2,000,000 units. They aren't shipment details, they are a record of financial transactions. Usually the financial transactions are similar to the retail shipment numbers but in times of greater sales and/or shortages you would expect the sales numbers to be higher than the number of consoles actually shipped.

it expalins som of it but hardly this much, when Wii got adjusted down there were some voices the too but not at this level and they didnt try and kill the sites credibility or forums and there´s a lot of Nintendo fans here almost as many as ps fans.

not true at all, if it was then they would have been vocal at other times when adjustments went downwards but they werent, infact they were commending the site for its numbers when wii got adjusted down. So the conclusion left to make is they are devoted to support their bias at any cost even if that means discredit the site and destroying the forums.
