1. PS3 has free online

2. PS3 plays blurays (major reason im getting it)

3. PS3 has built in wireless (it would add to cost of 360 as it would be required for me)

4. PS3 has every other feature 360 has (i.e. connectivity to my computers and nearly same games)

5. PS3 is simply the better value

To ME (costs rounded from Amazon):

360 cost would be:

$300 console (Elite as I'd want HDD and black exterior)
$40 wireless controller
$30 for 2 play and charge kits
$90 (wireless adapter)
$40 (1yr Live Acct)
= $500 and I'd still want a bluray player (another $120 or so), granted it comes with two games, one of which I already have on Wii.

PS3 cost would be $300 + $50 controller, so only $350.

Big difference and all in one machine.

So, what exactly is your definition of 'better'? In fact, the only benefit I would see is that more of my friends have 360s. However, once I bought a Wii, so did they, so I'm sure I can convince the remaining few to get PS3s as well. :)

you can use any usb or bluetooth keyboard and mouse so if you have allready for you computer you can use that. I do.

you can stream media from pc using windows media player 11 or later if that is what you mean. there is an issue of not accepting piracy but I can't really tell you about that cus I haven't tried

IMO the netflix is crap I don't pay for streaming at all

sorry don't know if the name is available, could try to use it myself but then it would be used =)

congrats on going HD and thats how excited I am about you. But I know I would be excited if I was you

Most new tvs have HDMI CEC thing is any makers have different names for it. As long as its hdmi 1.3 it probably has it.

My advice just search online, i recommend a plasma.

Netflix is completely worth it. I use it all the time. You get blu-ray movies in the mail and some great movies on demand.

That's what I was thinking as for a low cost my kids can watch unlimited downloadable content on all PCs in the house. Seems like a great deal really.
