i will give one reason it's not. the characters are mindless startrek crew, that have no relation and start having sex randomly and they are not likeable. story and how the characters interact, graphics are animations are below uncharted 2. they are different gender also, RPG are suppose to be later, U2 have multiplayer which many put 200 hours +. |
Seriously? Is this analysis based on you playing the game at all? Yeah, people just start having sex randomly for no apparent reason at all. You could at least try to make up something that sounds plausible when you clearly haven't played the game at all.
I've played both games and I prefer Mass Effect 2. Uncharted was a great game and was deserving of GOTY, but Mass Effect 2 is bioware's magnum opus.
It's funny how many on here are calling IGN biased, when this is the most biased PS3 site I've ever been on. Seriously how many paid posters are on this site? Oh well off to play some more ME2.

You have to be paid nowadays to have an oppinion and support it?
Maybe you should think twice before posting something like that.

I could have agreed if you said character models weren't that good...cause some of them aren't , but if you're comparing TEXTURES - Uncharted 2 is teh BEAST ! Even Uncharted 1 had brill textures, U can see the details in the bottom of a river - and when you talk about detail, what about those masks in Nepal, and those statues in the "Path of Light" chapter...if that isn't detailed enough for you then I don't know what is.... And we haven't talked about the Snow yet..... It looks better than ME2, thats for sure...but I agree - KZ2 looks greater than U2 in some areas such as lighting and those particle effects...but overall U2 is marginally better.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree.

You would in your honest interpretation call them close to perfect? Say for instance you had to give either game a score out of 100 with 50 being average, where would you place them aproximately? |
Can't say for sure on ME2 until I finish it, but on evidence so far around 94% with Uncharted 2 at 96%.
I rate based on how well the game relates to its own goals and then how good it is technically. I think both deliver terrifically against their design goals and compared to what's possible with current gen console tech, although so far I've found ME2 to be just that little bit behind technically. I don't mean graphics as such more looking at frame rate, pop-in, etc. Uncharted 2 just edges the ME2 engine technically so far for me.
To give some more perspective I'd rate few games 100%, but those that have come very close for me would be:
Ico - 98%
Silent Hill 2 - 98%
Flower - 98%
LBP - 98%
Those are the types of games for me that delivered almost perfectly on their design goals and were near enough perfect technically given the console tech they were running on.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

2 years ago people stated Biowares 'magnum opus (or best game) was Baulders Gate. 2 months ago, people were all saying Dragon Age was BioWares 'magnum opus'. And in 2 years it'll be Star Wars: The Old Republic.
Where do we draw the line? Usually that title goes to one work...for someone....who's dead.....
Also I'd like to point out that Bioware is so big now that there's multiple development teams working on multiple projects.
I expect IGN to give their goty this year to mass effect 2 then!!!!
:)
but they wont....
I haven't played Mass Effect 2, but wouldn't be surprised if it was better than Uncharted 2. Many people though, seem to think Uncharted 2 is the holy grail of exclusives.
