While he does present the argument badly what most of you are missing is that he throws in the fanboy comment because he's mocking the people that started the flamewar between U2 and ME2. In other words he's just tooling on fanboys to get a rise out of them and its obviously working.

The problem is most of you didn't bother to read the article and just jumped to conclusions. It is actually a well written article and in it he clearly says ME2 is a better game "for me" inferring that it is his opinion. He also mentions that the games were reviewed by different people and that comparing the two games is like comparing apples to oranges. All he is saying is that just because your a fan of one console shouldn't make you blind to the fact that another console has good games.

The fanboy crap is simply a mocking statement mimicking the way most fanboys argue.

truth is... GOTY? which... U2 for me was the game of 2009, there is no proof that ME2 will take 2010, could well do but that remains to be seen. havent played ME or ME2. As a PS3 owner with a PC that couldn't run ether, I'm jealous.

Pokemon Snap for VC is better than UC2 and ME2 put together.

Pokemon Snap is better than both those games because in Pokemon Snap you can take pictures of Pikachu and send them to the Wii message board where you can send them to your friends. You can't do this in either UC2 or ME2. And clearly, because I like trading pictures of Pikachu better than shooting stuff, Pokemon Snap is the better game. That's the truth and if you disagree you're a HD fanboy blinded by high res graphics that include no Pikachus or Charmanders.

In Greg Miller's defence I will point out his stated reason for writing the editorial and directing it at ravening PS3 fanboys. It was, he claims, because of the hew and cry over ME2 getting a better review score on IGN than UC2.

His editorial was directed at those people who, apparently, went nutso over a 0.1 difference in review score between these 2 mighty games. No need to launch into a discussion on how ridiculous it is for reviews to even go down to 0.1 increments in game reviews (looking at VGC here too). Anyone who goes off at such an inconsequential difference deserves to be called a fanboy and deserves to be told to deal with it.

OK so now the criticism. Miller did exactly what the PS3 Uncharted 2 nutjobs did, just without the expletives: blew a 0.1 score difference out of all proportion by proceeding to tell everyone how ME2 must be universally accepted as the superior game, because he says so. Dumb, dumb angle to take on this issue, unless you want to incite further angst in people. His own personal preference for ME2 over Uncharted 2 should have occupied 1 paragraph at most, but even better 1 sentence. The rest of his editorial should have been a lecture on how people need to grow up, get over themselves and learn to accept that reviewers' opinions will differ. The important thing about a review is whether the reviewer justifies the score in general by what he/she writes as being the important issues in a game (the things the game does well, the things the game doesn't do well).

i will give one reason it's not.

the characters are mindless startrek crew, that have no relation and start having sex randomly and they are not likeable.

story and how the characters interact, graphics are animations are below uncharted 2.

they are different gender also, RPG are suppose to be later, U2 have multiplayer which many put 200 hours +.

Mass effect 2 should be compared to another RPG instead. Mass effect 2 will be considered a better game than Final Fantasy XIII. Mass effect 2 will probably be the highest rated RPG of this generation.

Anyway why are we even comparing it to Uncharted 2. Uncharted 2 is old news. Mass effect 2 is the game that everyone wants now. Mass effect 2 and Uncharted 2 are two completely different games. Only things they share in common they are sequels, have guns in them, they both have high average reviews (both have 96 on metacritic) and both games will end up with similar ltd sales.
