I tried to explain how a GT5 release in early 2010 was given a slighty edge to Sony and, more important, how Sony lineup for late 2010 looked "poor/empty" compared to the 360 one.

Poor is a bit harsch but in term of hype/sales potential, when you have Natal/HaloReach/pricecut in the opposed team, it is legitimate to ask yourself : "How Sony will deal with this ?"

Indeed, late 2010 is going to be "The Xbox360 biggest (final ?) strike" to dominate the console market. Considering how the PS3 sales are in good shape right now and how the line-up is good and diversified for early 2010, we can imagine that GT5 could be "delayed in purpose" to protect the PS3 at the "right" moment.

In clear : do you think GT5 will be pushed back in Japan (and WW) to a late 2010 release date to help the PS3 during this crucial period ?

You know I think it will be delayed for this exact reason.

Logic tells me that with it now being January, the game has a good chance of releasing in the Summer.

But this game continues to defy logic.
A holiday release combined with massive advertising and a new Sony 1st party driving wheel/ GT Sku of the PS3 would do wonders for the PS3.

This gives them time to fully implement the head tracking/PS motion and Full 3D implementation with their flagship title.
Sony may even think of this game as the "launch" for Sony's 3D tech. The game could see a possible bundling with 3D glasses.
Sony knows this, and imo they won't let the opportunity pass them by

Whatever, I do believe the game is ready, they are just trying to get the most of it and perhaps to improve some minors aspect.

To me, it is obvious that a late 2010 release date would do good in term of timing but in the same time, they may end up fighting versus angry/disapointed/upsets fans and the expected PGR5 ...

How can it be hidden if everyone knows about it? I doubt the strategy planners at Microsoft and Nintendo have had it slip their minds or anything...

GT5 delay is not so bad a worldwide release would be they right move.

yes, "hidden" is not the correct word for the game ... but in a way, the final release date is "hidden"

I may be reaching for the gamers dream scenario with the bundling of 3d glasses and wheel in an ultimate GT sku.

But at this point, we have all been waiting so long for this game that hope builds upon expectations and vice versa.

Not "hidden" more like a weapon that they have alrdy revealed but they just wont use for some reason.

definitely wanting to throw gamers off if this is true
