Benoit, what level difficulty opponents are you facing on duel? I agree you can waggle through duel at first but not when it gets harder.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

I only played against another player but he just waggled and any attempt at blocking or any tactics was useless. May be i sucked at it.

@Ramparter - I don't understand what you mean about other light sources making it out of synch, can you elaborate please?

Motion plus uses the sensor bar to understand your default position by default. Play table tennis and try to to point your remote torwards some other light source like an open window. The game will then think that your are pointing torward the screen and that this is your default position. I think that you can disable that auto-sync though.

i'm dying to get wii sports resort, anyone knows whats the best deals around?

As far as I am concerned, WSR is Swordfighting with a bunch of other minigames thrown in. In this, I mean the duel, and the equivalent of the "Hoard" mode where you are rushed by a bunch of guys (the competitive match the slashing is one of the minigames). It is hard to describe how awesome it is playing, but it makes me feel like I am a Musketeer (or Zorro) and I do a move and go, "Ole", and look like I am conducting an orchestra with the waggle. I have had a blast with it. On the surface, it does appear to be a wagglefest, but the controls are responsive for me, and you can think on how to block and attack and defend. I do cheat a bit and use only one hand (supposed to use two though).

This game makes it look like they are in serious need of a good lightsaber game, and also an adventure game, where you are a swordsman, and get gold. Can also go with archery to (good but not as fun for me), and other related modes. I see a lot of promise to this.

Toys R Us preorder gave you $5 gift card with purchase.  Also, they had it be $10 if you bought Wii Sport Resort, $25 for it and another Wii game on their list.  If you had the Toys R Us "member" card, you got $20 gift card.  With the $5 off, I received $25 in store credit to use another time (had to wait at least 4 hours before could use it).  For myself, I did a prior purchase, so I got $20 off for getting Ghostbusters for the 360.  Not sure how long this will last though, and what stores participated.

I believe you have two types of attacks, a slash top down, and a slash to the side.  Top down hold your sword flat to block.  For a slide slash, hold it straight up.  If you can get a block in, then he gets stunned and can't attack, and you should be able to counter.  Of course, you need to practice.  I found mixing up attacks worked real well.  You may want to try the "hoard" mode to get some practice in against a lot of attacks.

Ok some of the sports don't have enough depth and some alternative games require a 2nd player (dog fighting and jet ski competitive racing are only offered in this way) but otherwise this is a great game. Better than Wii Sports.

I didn't get a poster btw.

they have dog fighting? I didn't know Nintendo pushed the boundaries that much!!

Dogfighting as in airplanes shooting one another.  Not the stuff Michael Vick got in trouble with.
