First the games, then a price-cut. I don't think it will be before march 2008.
They should announce a pric-cut @ MTV not E3 or E4 those will notice iton the internet.

Price Cut would plunge Sony even deeper into Red and send warning flags to lots of potential buyers.

I seriously doubt they will announce a pricedrop at E3.  They need to get the games out first and foremost.  If there were seriously brilliant games and quite a few of them...then people may consider buying the system and then when the price drops...they will get it.  But it needs the games first.

Also, even if they announce a pricedrop...what will it be....$100?  Personally I don't see that being enough.  The best time to make the pricedrop is in early November...worldwide with enough units on the shelf for people's Xmas.  It needs to move from £425 to £299 in the UK and $599 to $399 or $449 in the US.

Well... on a serious note, I do agree it would have to be a substantial price cut to matter but at the same time the greater the cut the greater the red flags set off for potential consumers who could see this as a dreamcast case. For such a price cut to come only year after it debut is one hell of a prediction thouhg. If it does happen though it would be a pretty sure bet that Sony use this Holiday season to decide whether to keep the PS3 going or not.

Wouldn't a price cut be a risk benifit situation? How many users would it attract, Vs. How many it would turn off?

Frankly, I feel it would attract more than turn off buyers.

Isn't possible that Sony will announce a high profile bundle, like for example a Killzone 2 bundle, to improve sales. I think that is more likely than a price cut. What do you guys think?

I thought the show was a bit too pro-Microsoft biased though. BTW the God of War 2 game iitself s on one DVD not 2. On the technical front they didn't seem to understand that writing new games engines to take advantage of the PS3's SPE takes some time, claiming the PS3 is marginally more powerful than the 360. It's like 1985 again, ported Atari ST games being slightly better initially than Amiga games.

I wish they wouldn't have neglected the existance of Rachet and Clank which is going to hit the platform this year probably before MGS and Final Fantasy will and is a major title for the PS3, I wish they talked about the upcoming Eyetoy, Warhawk and Heavenly Sword.

I don't think the average buyer knows about the casflow of Sony or SCE. So that won't be the reason for not buying a PS3.

SCE still affects Sony as a whole and is at the forefront of Sony's massive financial losses. How is this trolling. It's a valid oppinion, and far more kind in words than what I see many say about Wii.
