Forums - Gaming Discussion - Battlefront 2: Crystals removed temporarily, all progression earned through gameplay

We hear you loud and clear, so we’re turning off all in-game purchases. We will now spend more time listening, adjusting, balancing and tuning. This means that the option to purchase crystals in the game is now offline, and all progression will be earned through gameplay. The ability to purchase crystals in-game will become available at a later date, only after we’ve made changes to the game. We’ll share more details as we work through this.

No microtransactions in Battlefront 2?

In regards to Battlefront? What would EA pulling an Xbox One even entail in that case? Scrapping the loot boxes and opening up the content for everyone that bought the game?

Bet Shiken that COD would outsell Battlefield in 2018. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=8749702

Possibly. Multiple people have already reported that Crystals are no longer available for purchase

MP1st is reporting that Crystals will be removed from the game and that all Star Cards, Heroes and game-changing items will only be available to unlock via grinding. http://mp1st.com/news/star-wars-battlefront-2-microtransactions-removed-entirely-all-gear-to-be-unlocked-through-progression

But... are they going to change the requirements so they're not such a ridiculous grind? If not then how is this potential change any better than it is currently?

Any system which doesn't allow people to pay for better gear is a way better system than the one currently in place.

Doesn't change the fact that indeed it's still quite bad. IMO Star Cards need to go entirely, people shouldn't be able to earn significant buffs by grinding a lot.

Pulling an xbox one could many so many things. The kinect one isn't actually the first thing I think of.

EA is trying hard though it seems. Curious to see what things will be like when the game actually comes out.
Still not getting it.
