Forums - Gaming Discussion - COD: Jackal Assault PSVR demo, hi-fidelity

PSVR demo up on the psn store, 5 minute taster.

The cockpit is pretty cool, highly detailed and this psvr demo is one with the highest resolution so far.

I did notice some frame rate drops when it gets hectic. The ship's turning feels rather akward plus I'm used to having pitch/yaw on the left stick, which is throttle, backwards. Caution: perhaps due to unstable frame rate, but I did feel some uneasiness while looking behind me while turning and rolling.

Here's a little video of me screwing around in the cockpit, checking out the very detailed screens and headless pilot :)

I tried to control my normally much faster head movements. It looks a lot more stable (and not distorted) in the headset, with also a bigger fov. You don't notice those rounded black edges in the headset. (Plus 60 reprojected to 120fps helps a lot with fast head movements)

Anyway if the base ps4 can produce this, I want to see what ND can do with PSVR on the pro!

What is your favorite VR game or demo at the moment? I'm asking you because you have tried alot

Rez Infinite is the best game I have played. The original game translates perfectly to VR and Area X is jaw dropping. Original game is best played standing with move, area X works just as well sitting with a controller.

Favorite demo overall is robot escape in Playroom VR. From the included demo disc it's Thumper, that gives a very good representation of the game and has decent length as opposed to most other demos. To ease into VR the Wayward sky demo is perfect and covers all bases.

I finished Tethered today, excellent little strategy game (8 hour campaign). Look and click to order your peeps around while looking down on a giant miniature island set.

What I love most of PSVR atm is the variety of game types. Try everything, even CoD, which I haven't touched since CoD 2.

I've got batman downloading so gonna try that soon. Also yeah robot escape is great if that's the platformers one. I really want the paranormal activity game though atm has no release date

don't miss out on windlands, it is a fun game in VR.

Is there a story in windlands? I mean is there something more to it than grapple hook around?

I just made it through the last level from Thumper, insanely fast. Reflex skill test passed, rank c. I don't think I'll ever get s ranks on the higher levels, seems impossible. (to me) A couple more games to go before I'll be looking for a new game again. (I'm still playing DriveClub VR, eating away my time)

Excited to try this out. You're henceforth our official "VR Guy"!

It is basically an exploration game, trying to find shards/Tablets to open new locations:

The trailer is short but sums it up well.

Basically for me an 8/10 game(for that price), the gameplay is simple and fun and it is not one of those game that is going to frustrate you because you can't find some tablets contrary, it is really fun to find a way to get somewhere.  I must say I don't recommend it to people who easy get motion sick and don't let people who never played vr play that game first.

It is really short but I enjoyed it. I didn't get sick at all and though I thought the controls were a little weird it was still fun.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Ok, you convinced me. It's so much easier to pay $30 for a psvr game than $80 physical AAA games are up to here nowadays.
Btw if you like relaxing gameplay and enjoy (light) rts, Tethered is a lot of fun.
