How does it compare to the Switch reveal?

Around the Network

The Wii U trailer actually wasnt bad.

It just never ended up really getting used like they showed in the trailer.

I think the Switch trailer has elements like that.... like when you take off the Joy-con L & R sticks, and pass one to friends and play 2 man co-op on the go.

Very very few people are going to use the switch like that (I suspect).

Maybe its just because of hype.... but my overall opinion is the Switch trailer was better.

I think the Switch trailer was better just because it had the words "Fromsoftware" and "Bethesda" in it.

Nothing wrong with the Wii U trailer, but looking back I just feel the Switch is the console we should've had instead of the Wii U.

The like/dislike ratio on this video is also really good, with a lot of views. It's really not that far from the NX video IMO.

But how many promises of this video never took off or even never existed?

It was such a mess when they revealed it, and it is still is such a mess today... I remember thinking: "Wait; then this is a new portable console that conects to the TV, or it is a Wii Peripheal? The white console under the TV is a standard Wii or is it another new console?". Even the games they showed looked uninteresting.

At least, even if they have only shown 4 games, the Switch trailer is more clear about what we're getting, and the presentation is overall way better.

^ this is the biggest differnce between the two trailers for me.

The Switch has what looks like real games you want to play.

That 3-4sec of video showing the new Mario that looked like a galaxy/sunshine/64 return..... that alone makes it a million times better.
