Forums - Gaming Discussion - WWE 2K16 is headed for the PC (Comes with all DLC)

Tagged games:

2K Sports released WWE 2K16 for consoles last fall, and depending on how you interpret review scores it was either a decent, workmanlike effort, or a stone cold disappointment. In a few weeks we'll find out if it fares any better (or worse) on the PC, as the publisher announced today that it's headed our way on March 11.

The PC version of the game will “mirror the in-game content” of the PS4 and Xbox One editions, including all previously released DLC: The two playable versions of Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Terminator, the Legends Pack, the Future Stars Pack, the New Moves Pack, and a “Hall of Fame Showcase” featuring playable matches between historical greats.

WWE 2K16 sells for $50/£30, but is available for pre-purchase now at ten percent off that price on Steam.

The game is currently on Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One for $59.99 however as of this post Amazon and Best Buy are selling it for $39.99 for each version without the DLC.

Good for PC gamers. They really annualized WWE which I don't know why. The greats like Hulk Hogan was removed so better to find a WWE version that is complete with past greats.

They've been doing that since the THQ days though.

Started with 2007 (was my first WWE game I bought) for PS2.

WWE wants to be known similar to Sports like Football, Basketball , etc since those genres have annual games through EA, etc.

As for Hulk Hogan - the reason why he was removed was because of the controversy last year - he's not in this game but his assets I'm sure are so people can make them.

I wouldnt be surprised if they make him again for 2k17. No way WWE will turn him away for long.

Anyways - I did play other WWE games through my PSP and PS2 but bought my 2nd one WWE 2k15 last year for PC - the port was ironically good in terms of its performance considering it was the first PC port since the early 2000s or late 1990s cant remember the year the last PC WWF/WWE game came out.

Will be getting this one too (when its cheaper of course ;p)

Yeah I know the hogan controversy.  And Benoit was a way bigger than that. But as a WWE character a Benoit clone should be there.

Which version is the best - I love DX so attitude era and would like to have Kurt Angle, Edge, and other legends.  The current roster beside the shield, orton, cena are fine.

Possibly because of these reasons or a combination of.

1. WWE contract with 2k games - making sure that the two main console families (PS3, PS4, Xbox360 and XB1) get their own version before the PC version

2. 2k Games still not sure if its worth releasing the WWE IP on PCs alongside consoles due to heavy developmental differences - its the reason why they dropped the portable versions of the games due to the difference or lack of experience they had compared to making the games on home consoles.

3. Yuke's has a bad track record in game development especially when they start on a new platform. Its the reason why the games they make are full of bugs as much as Ubisoft's games and the reason why WWE 2k15 was delayed for PS4/XB1 a month after the PS3/X360 versions came out.

Really wish 2k Games would get new people for Yuke's or a new dev group ~_~.

Well if you are wanting Angle - 2007 was the last version he was in. Pretty decent sized roster and had a lot of memorable characters. Its also the last game that Benoit appeared in too.

Its hard to say which version after 2007 was the best - all of them had pros and cons , mainly in match types and what modes.

The more recent WWE games starting with 2k14 has a few key match types and modes missing that were in previous THQ published WWE games.

Havent really read into what WWE 2k16 has or is missing but hopefully it has more match types than in WWE 2k15.

Also some of the CAW assets in the recent games are barren compared to the older games where they had a lot of variety. I checked the WWE 2k15 assets for CAWs - they are not as good as the 2007 game's assets lol - at least from what I remember playing it.

Online has been pretty flunky from what I heard but havent tried it myself.
