Forums - General Discussion - Just watched "No end in sight", a documentary about post war Iraq

I'm wondering if anybody else saw this movie. I think it is originally released somewhere in 2007, so maybe it is actually pretty old news to many forum members, but to me it is new and the documentary shows some very disturbing facts. Of course it colored by the views of the maker of the movie, but the documentary paints a picture about the complete unpreparedness of the US how to handle a post war Iraq, the lack of resources provided to the group initially instated to lead an Iraq after the war and the awful decisions made by the Bush administration to create the foundation for the uprising that eventually took place there. Considering the huge number of people who died because of their gross negligence and bad judgment, I'm wondering if people feel responsible people within the Bush administration should be personally held accountable for their actions.

By defeating the evil Iraqi regime and getting control of Iraq's oil supplies. USA is clearly winning the war on terrorism. Just a few more years and the war on terrorism will be all but won.

And having 100000s of innocent Iraqi citizens killed in the process is just collateral damage? Besides, there were no terrorists in Iraq before the invasion.

So you openly do not support George Bush and the USA government. IF your a USA citizen that is treason. George Bush is a great leader and has brought lots of economic prosperity to your country and he has rebuilt the USA singlehandedly after the September 9/11 attack. Shame, you believe that anyway what you see is just media anti-Bush spin.

100,000 innocent Iraqi citizens, where do you hear this crap.  What about the thousands that Sadam had murdered on a regular basis.  I guess you did not care about them.  There were no terrorists there?  You must live in a dream world.  There is proof that there were terrorist training camps in northern Iraq, and Sadam regularly gave money to support terrorist groups.

Luckily I'm not from the US, being governed by Bush for 8 years in a row must be unbearable. Btw, given your second reply I assume this means the first one was being sarcastic as well?

It would be a shame for you to have to live in the greatest country the world has ever seen.

Hahah, you are obviously not from the US. It is the right of every US citizen to vocalize there lack of support for the current administration. What is important in the US is a government ruled my laws, and not men. Almost everyone in the US supports our form of government. Yet most everyone thinks the people put in office to execute it are big piles of dung (me included).

And yes, there were terrorists in Iraq. There are terrorists in the US. I don't think that means we should invade our own country. The whole "war on terror" BS was a ploy to get the US to back invasion.  We all did too. Over 80% of the country wanted us to go to war, and now those same 8 out of 10 people are pissed off that we went. Suck it up. You wanted to do it at the time we did, so the choice is on your heads too. Stop blaming others for choices you would have (and did) make.

The "war on terror" can not be won. "terror" is a state of mind, and how can you eradicate that? You can take down every government in the world, and you will still have terrorists. It was yet another example of how stupid our masses are.

It pisses me off to no end.

Please don't tell me you still believe Al Qaeda was present in Iraq when Saddam was still there. And I never said there weren't horrible crimes against the Iraqi people when Saddam was still in charge. I'm saying that the US wasn't prepared to lead Iraq after conquering it and made some terrible decisions which laid a foundation for the massive violence erupting afterwards, while this possibly could have been prevented by making the right decisions. After conquering the country the US became responsible for the safety of the people in Iraq and they failed miserably in providing it. You shouldn't compare the situation of Iraq under Saddam and Iraq under the US, you should really compare Iraq in its current condition with how Iraq should have been if the US government took their responsibilities correctly.

Saddam Hussein, Al-Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden the master mind terrorist are all linked they all played a role in the terrorist attacks. FBI and US government knows this is a fact. Iraq war was necessary for US national security, removing demonic Iraq dictator Saddam Hussein and freeing the Iraqi people who were enslaved to a barbaric Iraqi regime.
