Incidentally, someone on Neogaf made an interesting point - if Cloud can get in, then pretty much anyone can. Including Banjo Kazooie, for instance.

I'm going to consider this as Square testing out the waters for Nintendo before being fully on board with FF7R going onto NX.

But this is great, I hope there'll be a Cloud Amiibo.

So? I don't think any of that factors in to the decision. It makes square money it makes ninty money that's pretty much it 

Not to spoil to excitement,one thing we need to consider is this is very similar to MGS/Snake. I dont think this has anything to do with FF7 on Nx but more of a celebration of a long time remake for a beloved game. FF7 was on Nintendo consoles but Nintendo knows how big it is.

Why wouldn't they further capitalize on the newfound fanbase that Cloud will create?

I was actually the first one speculating that ff7 remake could come to ps4 first then to NX instead on the xbox, i made a thread about it during E3. Seems i am right again :p
