It was pretty good overall but fuck I wish I could have seen more Spartan action and the way they portrayed Master Chieft was disappointing since I was expecting him to be a lot more bad ass, not to mention the "would be" really impressive fights were all done in the background and all he did was coming out later and going "I need more ammo!" then all he got was a grenade.....

So basically, need badass Spartan action gosh darn it! Maybe the next one....

Pretty much what Maxim said regarding the budget. I loved watching it when as it was being released and I hope they do the same thing for every future Halo. I can understand the common gripes people have about it but I feel that there are far more pros than cons. My favorite was the Covenant reveal and the ensuing Elite stalking sequence. I felt like they captured the horror very well.
Of course I'd like a little more Spartan action but IMO the strength of FUD is in the subtleties. Like when the hacker kid showed all of the others that classified video, it was them NOT showing a full blown Spartan ass kicking scene that made it great. A Spartan hand here, some plasma flashes there, the sound of Covie weapons then, BAM, a split second glimpse of a Spartan's helmet. The Elite with the energy sword reflection was a real nice touch too.
I really, really enjoyed FUD and I can't wait to see more stuff like it.

I got it with my Halo 4 Special Edition, I have yet to watch it still. I want it to be a superhero movie (ya know... Master Chief is basically a super hero), but I know it wont be so I kept putting off watching it :/

I thought it was pretty sweet but yeah I agree. I was kinda disappointed with Chief. He just didnt give off that iconic badass feel that he has in the games.

But as others have said the budget wasn't huge so I understand. For sure the best scene is when the Covenant arrive

Is the retail dvd the same as the extended version that shipped with the Halo 4 LCE or is it just the webisodes all sellotaped together??

I don't kow what the version that came with the game is like but the blu ray just splices all of the episodes together. The one big difference is in the beginning, they show the cadets talking individually, like they are in an interview or something. Also, all of the opening CGI Cortana scenes from the episodes are spliced to make one big opening scene and it's awesome that way.

I didn't even look to see if there is any other extra content on the blu ray but I'm sure there is something. I only watched the disk once but I'm about due for another viewing.

The focus of this series was more on the cadets and the halo-backstory. Including Mr. Tom Lasky. I wish they would make a real halo movie now, with a Hollywood budget.
