Here are the latest trademarks from various game companies, all filed on July 6.

Square Enix

  • Densetsu no Ogre Battle
  • Ogre Battle
  • Luminous
  • Luminous Studio

Sega

  • Rusty Hearts
  • Border Break Union
  • Deko Boko Chibi Kart
  • Lop It
  • Yume, Kanaeshimono

Namco Bandai

  • Lost Dragon
  • Guilty Dragon
  • Gourmet Monsters
  • Infinity Moment
  • Yuujou Souchaku

Nintendo/Game Freak/Creatures

  • Lots and lots of Pokemon names

Under Namco Bandai's list, Infinity Moment is the subtitle for Sword Art Online. Under Sega's list, "Yume, Kanaeshimono" is the subtitle of Yakuza 5.

Under Square Enix's listing, the various Luminous filings are for the company's next generation engine.

Densetsu no Ogre Battle is the Japanese name for Super Famicom/SNES's Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen. The person who compiled all these trademarks notes that a few months after Square Enix registered "Tactics Ogre," which is the Ogre title that followed Ogre Battle, they announced PSP's Tactics Ogre remake. This has caused speculation that a remake of Ogre Battle could be on the way.

I personally love the Ogre Battle games and would love a new installment in the series.  I'm concerned about the lack of Matsuno however, as I heard not long ago that he had joined Level-5.  If you haven't played these games, go get them now on the Virtual Console, they offer amazing value for money and fantastic gameplay.

It can be square just renewing the rights for the series.

I must say i got tactics ogre for the PSP recently and i was really surprised with how much they changed the game for the best while keeping its style intact. It honestly feels a bit like the Final fantasy tactics sequal that never came (the PSP version ofc, because we all know the original tactics ogre came before FFT).

Anyways, if its more quality gaming like that, awesome news. I still want an FFT2 though. :(
