Sony and Nintendo team up to bring you 1080p on the Wii

in Gaming Discussion on 23 June 2007

How long until some non-nintendo company releases a TV with some IRLED's in it (to replace the sensor bar)? I mean, its not like the sensor bar is anything special, and some might like that just to avoid needing to connect and center the sensor bar....

    Killzone hype/expectations explained.

Further, if the KZ 1+2 people are involved with KZ3, and those people did not know how to use the PS2's hardware efficiently/well (as evidenced by these supposed dropped framerates, I don't know b/c I pretty much skipped last gen), what is there to say that they will be able to use the new hardware of the PS3 more efficiently? As a coder, I've learned that bad coding is bad coding, no matter what...

Do Nintendo really never make new games?

in Nintendo Discussion on 23 June 2007

ookaze said: All these threads bashing Nintendo are train wrecks from the very title they get. They all come down to the same thing:, it's scary how "these people" are predictable, and proven wrong time and time again.Blue Ocean predicted their behavior too. Anecdotal - Smarthouse: X360 Failure Rates Above 30%

in Microsoft Discussion on 21 June 2007

well, really it's just a matter of time before the hard drive fails. Normal HDs will only get a couple dozen thousand hours of use before the motor wears out (or whatever). That's one of the main reasons I am glad the Wii has flash storage. Sure it may be smaller, but it means the CD drive is one of the few moving parts in the system, which bodes well for longevity....

New Wii Exclusive- Not a mini-game compilation.

in Nintendo Discussion on 21 June 2007

Maybe its just me, but with some of the action shots in it I am just imagining swinging my remote + nunchuck around like poi, and getting really really excited. Unfortunately, i am pretty sure that would not be good for being able to play the game well, nor am i that secure in the ability of the two to stay together. Other than that, though, it looks pretty darn fun....

Don't talk through your butt if you don't know what you're talking about cause I remember very well and the exact same talk about Blu-ray was said about the DVD feature in the PS2. As for those that say things like "you can't make a comparison. that was then this is now....

World Hardware Sales, Market Share, Trends and Predictions for 2007

in Sales Discussion on 14 June 2007

Well, Halo will almost certainly push *some* units. Just like there are different markets for Starcraft and Command and Conquer (just as examples), there are different people that will buy Halo than Gears of War. Thats not to say there's not some overlap - the number of people who play(ed) both SC and C&C is certainly huge - but at the same time, no single game will appease to everyone. I know...

Tyler B fears Nintendo Wii will dilute PS3, Xbox360 quality

in Gaming Discussion on 12 June 2007

So the way I read the article is that he thinks that the expanding userbase will change the market for games. In a way, he is right. Take the first personal computers. They were generally expensive, required much specialized knowledge to use, required building them yourself, and sometimes even soldering equipment together by hand. Then, various companies started selling them prebuilt with...
