Looks like for 2021 the XSX|S did slightly worse than expected by this website's visitors, although semiconductor shortages did their part. It's interesting how the votes were distributed: The 9.0 - 9.9 million option was rather unpopular despite sitting right inbetween the two most popular choices.
This concludes the start of the year poll series. Curiously, VGC didn't live up to its reputation of being Nintendo-favorable. For the year 2021 Switch was the only console that got underestimated by the consensus while its competitors were either overestimated or spot on, depending on your willingness to acknowledge chip shortages.
