Forums - General Discussion - What do YOU do for a living?

I work in a huge scrapyard, my hours are 7am till 5pm, I drive a Bobcat Telescopic and Strip and depollute the cars that get brought into the yard, I do on average 20 cars a day with my buddy. i then take the cars to the crane driver about 400 meters away they then put the cars into the LINDEMANN fragmentizer. which is basically a £7 million($10million) machine that shreds up steel to 4 inch peices as if its butter. Now and then cars might get put into the frag with LPGs or full tanks of petrol and you get a massive Exsplosion with shockwave and everything.

Its a dangerous job. Since i started work there 6 years ago, Theres been a man lose both his legs, a man lose his finger, A man almost lose his life when a car fell onto him and crushed him, he had to be airlifted to hospital. a man lose the top of his finger. Plus i've had 3 laserations at seperate timse on my calf and thigh which went straight to the bone all of them, one with a petrol circular saw and the blade flew off and struck my calf, the other were done by glass working on the cars.

I have a Bachelors degree in Arts, visual communication. With a major in film.

I work at Sony in their BR/DVD mastering department where I do a number of things. Such as video editing, chaptering, thumb-nailing, bit budgeting (working out the size and quality of all videos on a BR or DVD),  fixing video issues for the releases and quality control work (which essentially means that I get paid to watch Blu-rays and DVD's to make sure they're up to scratch).

Chances are, if you live in Australia or other PAL countries you have seen my work.

Furthermore I'm a freelance videographer in my spare time.

I'm sous chef at a French Bistro. Doesn't leave much time for anything else.

Feel free to check it out if you want www.infernosbistro.com

Well, I've never had a job or anything like that. I'm just a first year college student trying to earn a bachelors in nursing.

When this thread was started, I worked at a supermarket as a bagger/buggy pusher.

Now, I don't do anything that makes money. But I do enjoy fixing computers  :D

When this thread was started I was doing part-time law and full-time teaching.

Now, I'm mostly sitting on my ass in front of the tv. But I'm supposedly doing a MSc   :D :D
