Obviously not that big of a deal breaker for most if games like Uncharted Killzone and Demons Souls all reach AAA status without it. I'd much perfer developers to focus on Single player than co-op or competitive play. I hated Gears of War because the single player sucked.

You had a good point until this part, cause that is one game that does co-op perfectly.  And for a shooter its single player is far better than most games.

I wouldhave preferred epic to work on the single player experience.

And do what exactly?  It was a great single player game,  what would you have them add/expand?

Maybe..... But I would like to have co-op to play the campaign with a friend(s).

Same here.  Thats why Resistance 1 and Resident Evil 5 is the best this gen IMO.  I wish there were more co-op games, NES and SNES had alot of it and i miss those times.  Well i rarely play MP online, im too social to play that and prefer to play with people beside me.

id be more disappointed if it had co-op the first game was great without it

man you really have a hangup with co-op huh?

Why not just play halo or something?
Do you have roommates that cannot stand you playing a game by yourself?

I really hope that was a joke.... I would have loved them to work on the normal things that make single player campaigns great. There was no plot/story or background. No character development or background... The length sucked. It was a very mediocre single player campaign and it could have been a lot better. Who is Marcus? Why was he in the jail? What are the locust?

Not a joke.   You need to play the second game.   Marcus Fenix backstory and reasons for being in Prison were explained in the first game.  And nobody knows what the Locust are or where they come from, but things start to be revealed in the 2nd game.

My point is about the first one... or else I would have said Gears of War 2 in my post. Why should I be forced to play a sequel to get something that should have been explained in the original? I don't have a 360 but if I did I wouldn't buy (Maybe rent or barrow from a friend) Gears of War 2 just because the first ones single player sucked. Just because no one knows what the locust are doesn't mean they couldn't be explained better in the first one.

I don't want Campaign co-op cos then it would be Uncharted Evil 5.

K, so let me get this straight. It's okay for Uncharted 2 not to have co-op in the campaign but everybody bitch about Resistance 2 not having one and also never complained about Killzone 2. I mean I don't mind if there's no co-op but then I also hate when people say it's ok for one game not to have one and then bitch at another for not having it.

You don't even have 1 platinum so I can't take you seriously.

The real question should be: Why should co-op be mandatory? I think it's just because one or two well selling xbox games had it and now 360 fans like to bash other consoles for not having what those games have.

However, on the other end of the spectrum, maybe we should be asking "where is the story in those games?" "Where is any of the things, that makes Uncharted 2 so good, in those other games".
