Nintendo really touched on something impressive there, to say the least. For the all the fighting between the trio of consoles, it's a good bit harder to find someone who can honestly say the DS doesn't have something for them. The game library is getting pretty huge, the design is sturdy (I have both designs, the original and a Lite, though no DSi), and companies keep getting more innovative with the controls.

Not to mention it's become one of the most massive RPG systems I've ever seen. I never thought I'd see this many but I think I've attained Geek-vana here with the sheer numbers. I think that's my thing, really: fairly good graphics with a focus on story as well. The DS RPGs seem to handle that pretty well.

All in all, I hope the DS keeps on trucking. The fifth year North American anniversary for it comes up in around a month.

The DS deserves it. It's cheap, has a massive library, and is pretty reliable. Plus the screen doesn't get scratched since it closes on itself.

Just looking through your DS collection, which I totally approve of, I noticed you don't have all the awesome 2D games the DS has to offer. If I may be so bold, allow me to suggest:

Yep. In around 2-3 years, I bet it'll even pass the PS2. I never really expected this and even two years after it came out, I was still using the GBA, thinking that the Nintendo DS was a mistake. However, when the DS lite came out, along with New Super Mario Bros. and Pokemon Diamond/Pearl was announced, I reconsidered, and I was glad I made the decision to buy one, because it would become my most used gaming peripheral. Even surpassing the PS2 (Which I still play)

I will be shocked if DS does not pass PS2 within 15 months. (ie, after next christmas).

well the ds is quite awesome and I think it does deserve it. Also I agree with ph4nt it probably will be the best seller of all time by next christmas.
