Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Tomodachi Collection- breakout hit of the year

Since there is almost no talk about what has easily become the biggest suprise hit of the year in Japan, Tomodachi Collection, I decided to make a thread about it. The game sold a little over 100k first week and has since then stabilized itself with sales between 70-90 k per week. The game currently stands at 1, 156 k according to Famitsu and will easily become the years biggest seller in Japan behind only Dragon Quest IX and Pokemon HG/SS with sales probably at least reaching 2 million.

But just how huge will it become? Is this a new hit for Nintendo in the size of let´s say Brain Age or Animal Crossing? And will the game make it oversees and will the sales be great here as well? I don´t know much about the game except that it´s supposed to be Nintendo´s take on the Sims but with Mii´s instead. Feel free to post your impressions about the game if you have played it. And as for the questions what do you think, will Tomodachi get a releasedate in America and Europe and will the game be a hit overseas as well? Please discuss...

Here are some pics of the game

Yeah, i've noticed it's continual presence on the DS charts for some time now, but what kind of game is it?

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

I think it will reach 3millions easily. Will it ever come overseas?

CURRENTLY PLAYING: Xenoblade (Wii), Super mario 3D land (3DS), Guild Wars (PC)

Yes that is the big question! I think it should though sooner or later since it´s become such a huge hit for Nintendo. They would be foolish not to release it wouldn´t they?

Apparently it´s supposed to be Nintendo´s take on the Sims but with Mii´s. It sounds corny but brilliant at the same time! I´m just intrested in hearing opinions of people who have played it.

No the biggest sales of the year beside Dragon Quest IX and Pokemon HG/SS.

Tomodachi will easily reach 2 million this year, something I do not see FF13 achieving
