I can't really explain it myself, but does anyone share the opinion that horror, whatever medium they're in whetether it be games, movies, etc are scarrier/creepier when they're low budget?

I don't know if it's that more realistic movies make the situation and story feel less supernatural, or that the directors become lazy and more reliant on gore than psychology, but...

anything horror with low budget and not done for the capitalist and sensationalist hillowood is bound to be good, as long as they are not those crappy alien videos in youtube, as a side note: japanese=more horror but the japanese ringus aren't as good as the american ones.

dead space was high budget and thats one of the best horrors this gen

eternal darkness sanity's requiem, i bet dead space had a budget almost the double of this game and it didn't came close to its scares.

Horror just doesn't appeal to me, so I can't say...

Dead Space wasn't horror... It was disturbing, but definitely not horror. Sci-fi suspense makes more sense.
