Forums - Microsoft Discussion - What I ( Like / Don't Like ) About My 360

________________________________

These are my opinions on my Xbox360

________________________________

Things I Like:

1080p: Everything plays in 1080p, Upscale regardless, my TV says 1080p every second my 360 is on, never changes.

Connection: Everything connects quickly and easily even DirectV Remotes, and when you turn off your 360 everything connected to it turns off, and you can have multipal headsets connected

Media Center: you can upload all your DvD's & Box covers and stream away even record TV

Your Music
: Music sucks in game, play your own shit in every game, pop and CD in and rip it quickly, or connect an MP3 player easily

Achievements: You get points for every Xbox 360 game

Controller
: Center button does everything, Indent on Analog Sticks so your thumbs rest inside for better grip, battery, rechargeable batteries, or plug & play kit, choice.

Downloads: Fast and no install, once it's done just play, background download everything, except system updates those are to quick to BG.

Connectivity: Instantly connect with friends, invite to/join games, party, chat, one button click and your there

Optional Install
: Install a game to help load times, or don't, you have a choice

Navigation
: Easy to read, Easily navigate, very user friendly

Store: Full Screen pics for what your about to buy, yet to find a game with no demo

Indie Games: User created Games, buy/try, or make your own and sell/make $$$$

Rate A Game: Let people know if a game is good or bad

Things I Don't Like
:

RROD: ya you have 3 years, and it's not that big of a problem.. o look what I just shit out it's E74.. TIP: before your warranty is up, towel that shit.

Hard Drive: Seriously, MS can't find a way to let you switch out your hard Drive? I mean I can take it off the system, just make a little door and let me pop my own in there

Power Brick: Here's something that's almost as big as the 360 it's self (if they make a slim, the box for the power supply will be bigger), if this thing breaks I have to shell out $100.. hmm..

WiFi: The DS has WiFi, my cell phone has WiFi, MS couldn't find a way to get WiFi into the case? At least lower the freakin price.. wtf

Backwards Compatibility: Sooo... we just stopped? no more updates to bring out more? I remember votes had to be made to get what you wanted

100 Friends Cap: Because of Halo 2? that's why I'm restricted, an amazing multiplayer game gives restriction to multiple connectivity.. go figure

Old Interface: I thought we were allowed to switch from NXE to the Old Interface? well?

Disc Tray: ya I can open it from my couch, but why is it still a tray, find no time for an upgrade for a nontray yet? Maybe help out with some scratching discs

XBL Price: $49.99 if you don't find the deals like I do for $29.99 to $34.99, but I have a Family that wants to play online with people, why not make a family package already, your moving the console towards the family casual, why not throw in a little discount for families as well. ( I even made a petition )

MS Points: Just give me a price, I know it's to make you feel like I'm not spending money, but the only thing I think about is "man I need to Buy more points"

XBL Arcade/Indie Games: I have two 360's in my home, one for my Son and one for Me, and I spent $30.00 on Battlefield 1943 so my Son and I could play together, why? ya there is a way to add my account onto his 360, but we still can't play online together, let us share it like the other console.

Ads: MS is not making enough money on XBLG they had to include ads, how about you take the ads away from people that PAY for XBL, and leave them on the silver accounts, ya I know they aren't that bad, but it's the point of paying to look at ads.

How I got my Xbox360:

I wanted a Xbox360 when it came out but it was rough times, didn't have the money to buy an Xbox 360, but at the same time it was still hard to find a 360. I'm sitting at homw one night in the garage on the PC. I leave the gargae open when i'm in it to keep it cool (Florida heat). I have my headset on in the middle of a podcast with some friends and we just so happen to be talking about how I'm the only one in the podcast with out an Xbox 360.

As i'm talking I see a shadow come from behind, thinking it's my wife not thinking to much into it, $1,200 gets dropped down on my keybaord in front of me... I'm in shock, loss for words, I keep hearing, hello, hello, SEGA you there? from the podcasters.. I look over and my dad has a big smile on his fae, "I went to the Casino, heres have some fun"... Podcasters are still asking, you there? I tell them.. I have to go... I drive to Gamstop and ask if they have any  360's, the guy says no sorry, I said ok, and as I'm walking out the manager walks into the back and comes out with a 360, here I was holding it for someone but it's been over a day. So I buy it and Blazing Angels.. Love That Game!

For the 360, I would have added the noise. Just today, I was playing Uno, and the music stopped. It was eerie. The sound of the 360 running blocked out every other noise in the room.

That sucks about sharing =/ I thought that the PS3 sharing was overrated and seemed a bit shady, but hearing your story it makes a lot more sense now.

Yeah... the noise bothers me on the 360.

I agree with basically everything.

And I didn't know Halo 2 is to blame for the 100 friends cap limit....thats pretty lame!  Damn those tools that haven't upgraded to Halo 3!!!  I keep having to delete friends from my list!

Around the Network

I agree with almost everything, its just that the hard drives are too damn overpriced. I also love the party chat system.

Yah I agree with this list too, very fair!

2 things...

1. "100 Friends Cap: Because of Halo 2? that's why I'm restricted, an amazing multiplayer game gives restriction to multiple connectivity.. go figure"

You don't want more 100 freinds on your 360 for another reason. Why you ask? Because it would slow down your xbox imensly. Every time you go to your friends list it has to download all the avatars and images for all your buddies. The less freinds you have the quicker that load is. At 100 friends, it would take you over 30 seconds of your xbox doing nothing but loading your freinds stupid avatar custom costumes...

2. "XBL Arcade/Indie Games: I have two 360's in my home, one for my Son and one for Me, and I spent $30.00 on Battlefield 1943 so my Son and I could play together, why? ya there is a way to add my account onto his 360, but we still can't play online together, let us share it like the other console."

This is wrong and you 2 can play this game with 1 purchase. If you bough the game with your ID and your xbox, have your son play on your xbox with his ID. You can go to his machine and play the game with your ID. The game that is downloaded is tied to 2 things, console and xbox live id.

^ To clarify IIRC the Arcade game can be played by your gamertag and on the console it was downloaded to by anyone. So if you download it on your sons gamertag on the main console then he can play it on his with his tag as hes the only one using that console and anyone can play it on the main console.

Your issue with number 1 could be solved by only downloading the avatars immediately viewable.  Such as stream in the first 50 and when someone scrolls to the next 50, load them up.  This is how most RIAs work nowadays.  Helps control bandwidth and reduce strain on memory requirements of the clients hardware.

Savvy way to get around #2.
