@Garamond: Isn't it better they come out and say that, or maybe even say they believe their game won't be successful on the Wii, rather than saying Wii isn't capable when a much less capable console is getting it?

If that's all you're mad about I can entirely understand. I just think Namco isn't porting Tekken 6 to the Wii because they don't think the market is there.

Is no PS2 version either. Clearly a case of the controls ;)

It's just that when I think of a watered-down port, it reminds me of the SNES/Genesis days where you got your Street Fighter II for home console but they paled in comparison to the Arcade version. In this case, though, those arcade versions would be available for purchase on the 360/PS3 and would retail at just $10 more. Considering they probably had to do very little to do in porting it over to the PS3 (since the PS3 is essentially the same architecture used in the arcade version), paying money to make a version of Tekken 6 that looks and plays worse to try and sell alongside arcade perfect versions just seems like a bad idea. Tekken 6 uses the Octave Engine and most other newer fighters people are clamoring for a Wii port of (like SFIV) use the Taito X2, which make it impossible to port those games over to the Wii and keep the game arcade perfect. I think this would be fine if the Wii version was the only one out, and I understand some people would be willing to accept an inferior version for their Wii, but I really think that's just a vocal but small part of the market. The Wii version basicaly alienates anybody serious about fighters since they wouldn't accept an imperfect port when they can get the arcade perfect PS3/360 versions. And most everybody with both a Wii and and 360 or PS3 would probably choose the PS3/360 version over the Wii since that they will look and play better, and most likely have superior online play. The market's that left is essentially Wii only owners that actually like 3D fighting games. Even if some of you guys may be a part of that demographic, I just don't think that's a big enough market for Namco to justify porting costs of a Wii version of Tekken 6.
japan has tekken 6 cabs all day all night
