Forums - Sony Discussion - Quit ignoring Canada, Sony

I don't know why the big 3 have to have individualized stores for each region. why not have one store that gets all the same content (pretty much) but the user chooses what language they want.

Sony say NA because, believe it or not, the USA is a large portion of NA, and an even larger portion of the console market.

As for why you don't get stuff whilst the USA does, well, numerous reasons. The USA is a higher priority, for one, also lot's of firms may only give Sony the rights to distribute their movies in the USA (for the video store).

Well then they should stop fuckin saying North America and start Saying The United States of America.

Just kiss the tip.

United States is not the only country in North America. Yes, that's a fact, Sony; so when you promised to bring something to North America it doesn't mean you only bring it to the US. Like the video store at E3: they said, "by tonight in North America". So, I check it that night... nothing. I check it next morning... still nothing. I decide to google it, because, quite frankly, its announcement got me REALLY excited. It turns out Sony doesn't know its geography. We still don't get the video store btw.

Then, a year or so later, I download some video from PSN and hear about the new music video service that was supposed to be coming soon. Then, it turns out it's already out, but NOT IN CANADA! Why, Sony, why? Why do our only land neighbours get all the goodies, but we don't?

change your address or something

I am a loyal SONY fan and will always be.

I am also a PS1, PS2, PS3 and a PSP owner.

So true. People like you should work with the big 3.

Exactly what I'm getting at. They get us excited for nothing.

I live in Canada and the reason why the PS3 is ignored is because it costs 500 bucks while the 360 is exactly the same price as in the US (for all versions).
In fact even the 360 is largely ignored. When I go to game stores I always find PS3 and 360 consoles but to this day I've never seen a Wii on store shelves.

Well in my Canada the PS3 costs the same as in the US (399$).

Yeah, same here. And, as far as I know, the PS3 is not ignored in Canada.
