Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Playing SMT: Devil Survivor...

I've had it for a few weeks and keep getting distracted and not playing it, but I've finally decided that I will play it and finish it.

Anyway, I just made it to Day 2.  So far my teams look like:

Yoohoo, Garm, and Lilim

Yoohoo does great with the casting of the spells thing so I gave her Dia and a few attack spells.  Garm has a few attack spells but he's mostly a physical attacker.  One hit and he can usually wipe out 50% or more of the enemy's HP.  Lilim has Elec. Dance and a few other nice spells.  No really noteable skills except Garm's Devil Speed which lets Yoohoo run around the battlefield really fast.

MC, Hairy Jack, and Moh Shuyuu

The MC is a powerhouse at just about everything so he's fine.  Hairy Jack and Moh Shuyuu are both stocked on attack spells, but the real power comes from their auto-skills.  Hairy Jack gives Animal Leg which lets me move before and after battle while Moh Shuyuu gives Flight which lets me move anywhere in my range.  I really like this combination of abilities so I'm looking at turning Hairy Jack into a Nekomata (also has Animal Leg) in a few levels.

Atsuro, Thor, and Jack Frost

Atsuro has some battle stuff but he's mostly meh.  Thor is a god... literally and figuratively.  He criticaled in the last fight for 198 damage and regularly hits for 120 damage.  He does more damage with regular hits than most enemies have HP.  It's obscene how tough he is.  Jack Frost is... well... a magic user.  He flings spells, hits weaknesses, and does all that fun stuff.  Nothing amazing, but he's effective.

My only complaint at the moment is the fact that Atsuro moves so slowly compared to the MC and Yoohoo.  MC basically double moves every turn and Yoohoo can use Devil Speed over and over to zip around but Atsuro basically gets left behind.

Is anyone else playing this game right now?

I'm playing it off and on, but I get distracted with Ketsui Death Label and 3D Picross. It's a good game, but I find it hard to get into for some reason.

Ditto.  I played for a little bit and have since been distracted by 4 games so I'm not very far.  The nice part is that the battles go pretty fast so it's pretty easy to pick up and play for a bit then put down.

I beat it my teams got really messed up...mostly from the fact that I got to the top level for the final demon...

Former something....

mmm I was hoping to get this game, but all the "I get distracted and stop playing" thing is making me think twice...

Wait, did Picross 3D release in America?

Spoiler Alert.

Yoohoo is exactly that, a magic user. She got only 3 movement points so it's recommended you give her a demon with flight or demonspeed.

The Dance spells are very effective, more so than the hit-all versions. I'll let you figure out why it's effective.

Atsuro isn't that slow, you probably used them wrong :) He's pretty much the opposite of Yoohoo. You'll want to teach him physical skills. Remember all actions will add to your delay for next turn. So, not moving is sometime a good strategy, too. Try giving him phantasma demon to cut the movement cost by half.

Main guy is pretty much what you want him to be. I'd recomment boosting the non crucial stats to minimum of 16 so you could use the useful skillsets.

You'll get your 4th person soon enough and it'll get easier even.

I mean slow as in movement-wise.  Yoohoo is running Devil Speed every turn and MC is double moving thanks to Animal Leg.  Atsuro isn't doing either so while they're out in front busting enemies, he's just trying to get to the battle.

If you just want to move forward, just move and end turn. Phantasma cut that wait time by half, too. I think the problem is the choice of demon you gave Atsuro :)

Also, Thor may be strong now, he will be obsolete soon.

Str boost physical attacks and also physical defense.
Mag boost magical attacks and also magical defense.

Thor has extremely low mag while having extreme str. While he OHKO others with physical hits, they also OHKO him with magic attacks. Make sure you have backup to replace him :)
