Geometry wars 1 was ok and graphics did hurt a little...but Geo Wars 2 is one of the best and most colorful games I have played in my life. Any time I want to show off my 67 inch Tv to someone, that is the game I use.

No sadly 256x224 video doesn't look good on a tv with 1920x1080 resolution.

I didn't really understand the weapons mechanics, I guess you'll need to use the particles in some way.

XBLA means Xbox live ARCADE

shoot'em'ups are ARCADE

nobody buys ARCADE games in a box, so where to put shoot'em'ups if not here?

More variety would be great yes, but I think this game differs more from GW or Stardust than the first screens show. I am not sure about the mechanics, but they seem to be totally different to me.

 

Unfortunately also the summer of arcade doesn't really offer variety this year. All games base on known concepts tho.

All of you are wrong.

Super Stardust HD is a clone of Asteroids.

Geometry Wars is a clone of Robotron 2084.

I'm not sure what category Ion Assault falls into, but it looks far too busy to be playable.

Great thing about XBLA: There always is a trial version.

So just give it a try and you will see how playable it is and if its for you.
