The Story in Snake Eater is the best story in Metal Gear by far.

Big Boss is the best character and best Snake in Metal Gear.

The final Boss fight is the best boss fight in Metal Gear.

EVA is best female lead in Metal Gear.

It has the best soundtrack of any Metal Gear.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater was the highest point in the Metal Gear series. Even after beating MGS4 a months ago I still think this is the greatest Metal Gear and its gonna take a lot for it to be beaten in my eyes since MGS4 was close to but just not their even with all the crazy tech behind it. Snake Eaters story easily raped Guns of the Patriots story btw.

I just felt like praising the best Metal Gear Solid game in this thread because after replaying the Peace Walker trailer over and over again I cant wait to play as the one and only Big Boss again in the bad ass Cold War era.

NOTE - Yes I know its in gaming but this is more of a Metal Gear series thread then just these two games.........and Im to lazy to change it over.

The fight with the Boss was great - but I thought that The End and The Fury were better boss fights, to be honest.

Yeah, it's probably the best in the series in a lot of ways.

The last battles just dragged on and on, they just wouldn't let it end. Didn't find the story very compelling. Nothing too special about Eva... I will agree with the soundtrack though.

It's probably 3rd on my MGS rankings.

The Fury? Really? I thought that fight was rather weak only second to the firt dude.

Ah The End at first it kinda ticked me off but after 30 minutes I couldnt believe how wide my eyes were open and the position I was sitting it. >.<
That fight is easily one of the greatest fights in gaming history.

Everybody loves The End, but not as many people appreciate The Fury. Most people go gung-ho on him; I didn't. I stayed in the shadows. I didn't let him see me. It was like fighting the Terminator combined with Pious Augustus. I psyched myself out, so that the goal was to shoot him and also not be caught. He was an avatar of fear.

A bad, bad man. I really enjoy that fight, every time I do it, because I always approach it that way.

I guess but if you dont have to do I wouldnt. You couldnt really beat The End any other way but to be careful and smart. Since I didnt really have to do that with The Fury I just went into the open and shot.

Thats what i heard i only played MGS: PO, my favorite psp game.

I wish only if thet ported the MGS 1-3 bundle to the xbox 360.

well I agree that MGS3>MGS4 in everything except soundtrack
however I still feel Metal Gear Solid (PS1) was the best in the series...(so far)
the Snake struggle, the boss battles, and character development was best in MGS
