Forums - Sales Discussion - The Conduit Sales Prediction

I believe with all of the delays, the game could very well have low sales for such a highly anticpated title. My original prediction for the game was 440k first week worldwide. However, my predcition for the sales first week worldwide now are 350k first week. I think this game will sell more than Infamous first week. The game received a lot more attention and hype than Infamous. However, Infamous did receive some TV ads and the Conduit has yet got any TV commercials and the game is set for release next week. Anyways, will sell how it will go next week.

What are your predictions?

TO GOD BE THE GLORY

Around the Network

They already had commercials during Family Guy, The Ultimate Fighter, and South Park...

Former something....

The game had delays? I heard it didn't have a publisher for a long time... but delays?

I'm saying 80-100k in the US, just because FPS are not that popular on the Wii. 80-100k would be not bad for a new FPS IP on the Wii. I'm guessing around 120k worldwide.

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Watch my insane gameplay videos on my YouTube page!

Commercials are showing. I've seen a few. I think one of them was one Spike. Gotta say, I was impressed.

First week, I'm hoping for over 150K. Also hoping this will be eventual million seller.

The game received a lot more attention and hype than inFamous? Where, on the internet? I've seen commercials for The Conduit (seemed a lot like a movie trailer, kind of cheesy). I see The Conduit as the sort of game that's sales potential has been distorted by internet hype. It won't have nearly as big of a launch as some people expect, but it will have great legs.

There's a demand for shooters on the Wii. This has been shown with Red Steel, Call of Duty 3, Resident Evil 4, Call of Duty: World at War, etc. However, since shooters aren't a big genre on the Wii, it takes longer for one to grab sales than it would on the HD consoles. Word of mouth will really help The Conduit.

I could be way off, but I'm going with:

First Week: 85k America, 35k Others, 120k Worldwide

Lifetime: 1.3 million

You pretty much hit my prediction on the head only thing diffrent is I think it will have 10k more in the US first week...

Fight Night will prob. poach Conduits sales next week. Like UFC did to Punch Out same thing will happen. 95k US 220 WW

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Yea, I have seen a commercial twice now. I want it to sell well if it is a good game. Which i hope it is since i preordered it.(Not something I normally do) I would guess just a 50-75k at first. With the word of mouth keeping it going if it is fun.

First week, 100k worldwide.

I think this game would be considered a success if it sold more than 1 million copies, but at the same time it's kinda sad considering it's the best FPS on Wii, and the best FPS on the HD consoles sell 5 million+

It could very well have a slow start, leading to many people calling it a flop after one week of data. But I really hope it does well, we need some more mature games on Wii.

# of games above 75 on Metacritic (including downloadable):

360: 241     DS: 144

PS3: 152     PSP: 126

Wii: 85

i just read the release date for europe is pushed back to July 10.

Day1: 120 - 180k (at least 50% more than madworld)
half of day 1 for the rest of the week -> 60 - 90k

Week 1: 180 - 270k
