Forums - Gaming Discussion - PC gaming is dead!

It's too expensive!

The online sucks!

Games are borked from the start!

Sales are falling by the day!

PC gaming is at an end!

Yeah, we've all heard it before, so let's have someone a bit less "biased" and "neutral" have their say:

Nice read - dispels a lot of the hubbub flung around VGChartz regarding PC gaming, especially on pricing, and sales...

If you spend 3-4 grand on a gaming desktop, you are wasting your money.

PC and console games both have their unique places in gaming. As long as they do their job - keep players entertained - and busy gaming - I welcome all things gaming.

Being gamers yourselves, I don't see why all the fanboyism - just enjoy your game, whatever system it's on! It's not like we are all forced to choose sides. It's just hardware after all - it's games that we play...

PC gaming is coming back, and coming back with a vengeance, you ignorant FOOL!

In all seriousness, pc pwns everything alse when it comes to graphics, and online. That's why i dont get why people keep getting PS3s (and 360sin some cases) for the graphics, and not the games... i mean, if you're such a graphic whore, a PC gamer is what you want to be. Not to mention is getting a lot of MS games now, and hence my opening statement... and if you dont think is a good idea for MS to link 360 and pc, you are wrong, as it will start killing 360 salles true, BUT MS benefits as more games are bought from them... not to mention online memberships and so on.

I could still spend less buying all three of the major consoles than I would need to spend to run Crysis at the kind of level that would do the game justice.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. I always laugh at my friends that TRY to make me understand that PC gaming sucks, with arguments like price, that is not the same that playing on your TV (excuse me HDTV-Out), and HD (1280x720? R O F L)... I don't care if they don't like it,for me it's the best :)

Hey ssj12, have you seend the V8 SkullTrail?

Two quad-cores @4Ghz, possible quad GeForce8800GTX, all that with over 1KW of power... sheesh.

...yet none of the three major consoles could even begin dreaming of running Crysis at the kind of level that would do the game justice, leaving you with... what was the option again?

Did you even read your own article?

I hadn't when I posted, but I'm glad to see that the very first point in the article is the point I was going to make

"That machine will play literally every modern PC game at its super-duper-pretty settings at 1680x1050 (take that, 720p console games!) for less than $1,500."

If you build your own PC, you can get much much much better deals.  In fact, the ABSOLUTE MAXIMUM I would EVER recommend someone spend on a PC if they were build it is 2000 dollars.  Absolute maximum.

For every Crysis you get I get a Killzone 2, a Halo 3, and a Metroid Prime 3.  Fair trade?
