Forums - Microsoft Discussion - I'm thinking of giving up on 360 entirely

***UPDATE***

now its WORKING again all of a sudden?

what is going on with my system anyone got any ideas?

am i on the dge of breaking? could it be something else?

Quick trade it in before its too late.

But in all honesty I don't care what anyone says MS was careless and should have built a better system. I shouldnt have to worry about my 360 breaking down on me everytime I boot it up. Used, New it doesnt matter a 30% fail rate is fuckin ridiculous and MS should have been sued out of their cock-a-hole  till they were almost bankrupt to teach them a lesson in rushin out faulty products

Black Women Are The Most Beautiful Women On The Planet.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

I don't get it.

You bought a USED Xbox 360 that was very old and certainly ran the risk of being a major issue. Now your complaining it red ringed?

I'm suprised such a fan of the 360 wouldn't understand that. I'm sorry to hear about your 360's demise, but the fact is, we all know that older 360s aren't that reliable. With a MFG date of 2006, you know, as well as I do, that it's a very old system, and can RROD on you.

My advice? Buy an arcade. Jaspers are very reliable (and you should know this).

i got it cus i traded two games for it, which is cheaper than an arcade

its just issues that shouldnt be issues

i bought 360 the day it came out for 400, then i pay 200 now on live probobly, trade games for a new one, and now i gotta drop another 2 bills on another one plus 60 for another year of live . . .

so for 4 years of 360 ive paid 900 or so not including games . . .

(the first one red ringed, and i traded it for a wii to an idiot, so if youre wondering why i didnt send it in, it was also before they extended the warrenty, so it was warrenty free when i got the wii for it)

so yeh i could grab an arcade, but a part of me kind of wants to just give up on it, since im conveniently at the end of my live subscription as well.

Either you're lying, or something is up here.

You "traded" a red ringed xbox to someone for a Wii, and they never said anything?  Uh, yeah.  Sure.  OK!

yeh i did

dont underestimate a salesman by trade

i was in calgary (4 hour flight from where i live) at a mom and pop game store, they bought it without testing it, and yes im going to hell i know

Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6).  This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.

I agree, they should have built a better system.  They should have learned from Sony's EPIC failure that was the PS2 disc read error.

Stop getting so excited about a Kid Icarus remake... the original NES Icarus sucked.

Make sure your hard drive is plugged in correctly and the video cable is in all the way.  If one is loose, it could be doing this.

i think you may be right

the only thing i did from when i was red ringing just now to it working, is i unplugged it all to check the manufacture date.

plug back in, and it works

i will mention on my samsung tv sometimes my 360 is on, but the tv has no signal, i flip channels come back its back

could this all be faulty wires?

interesting

maybe i should trade it in right away as that guy was saying, and maybe its just my power cord . . .

hmmmmmm wierd shit

dear microsoft, ive been insanely loyal since xbox 1, stop with the bullshit.

Ever hear of Karma

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

Damn sorry to here that man. My 360 RROD'd on me before and I was just as pissed. It wasn't under warranty because I had hard-modded it. I had to go out and spend money on a new Arcade model and use my old HD.

Here's a list of the top 5 games you should look into once your ready to make the change:

1 - Metal Gear Solid 4.
2 - Uncharted: Drakes Fortune.
3 - Little Big Planet.
4 - Killzone 2.
5 - inFamous.

It's good to see that you are thinking about choosing reliable hardware as a fix to this problem.

Ratchet & Clank needs to be on that list also.

My first 360 was dead out of the box (DVD drive wouldn't eject) but I had that taken care of within the hour so it was no big deal. It gave me red lights but I don't remember how many...

My second 360 that died on me was actually a dev kit and that scared the Hell out of me. I had taken it home over Christmas break to play the game and make playthrough notes and when I brought it back to work it red ringed on me.

Luckily it wasn't a big deal and had another one that day (though only a test kit this time).
