They both add Reply Value so they are equal in that department.

And I enjoy both very much so.

But....

I like achievements more because:

Every Single 360 Games has them.

I don't have to wait for my 360 to sync up with a server to see my achievements.

When I get an achievement I can quickly see what I got the Achievement for, no scrolling, just push button & view.

Achievements feel like a solid part of the system, as trophies seems like an added mod of some kind.

Trophies are still buggy, I Do Not own StarDust but yet it still shows on my trophy list as 0% Trophies ever sense i got the demo, and will not leave my trophy list..

1. Did the launch titles have achievements?

2. You don't have to sync Trophies either unless you want to compare Trophies...

3. This isn't a bug. They purposely have it this way so you can see what trophies are available for the full version. It is more of a way for them to push you to buy the game.

1) Yes

2) My trophies sync whether I'm comparing or not.

3) Regardless it bugs me that it's there and it will show people like myself that it's a bug in the system, not a way of advertising.

2. I won't if your not connected to the internet or cancel the syncing process.

3. Then it will greatly bug you that you can earn trophies from playing demoes. I don't own Skate 2 but i have a trophie from playing the demo.

I thought that it was a bug specifically with the Stardust game, I've never had it with any demos.

Actually I have to double check but I think it is only with Stardust and Skate 2. I don;t remember having random games at 0% or more that I dont own other than those.

2. "cancel" the "syncing process" ?????

its realtime...

when I view my trophies and it pops up the syncing trophies screen after playing a game I can git O and stop it. Unless it changed in firmware 2.76

After double checking my trophies, its only with Skate 2 and StarDust it seems.

I like trophies better, because u can tell if someone is really good or really bad.

This is a great point! Both these systems have these rewards in place to show the world what kind of gamer u are and the PS3 does this better, IMHO. U can really tell how good a gamer your friends are, and, more interesting how they game just by checking their types of trophies quickly. Eg; Mike is at level 15, but, sadly only has 1 platinum and a lot of silver and bronze. Tells me he plays a lot, but rarely finishes his games. Love it!

Regular fimware updates have little changes to the PS3, too. Two firmware updates ago they added a little - to all the games that the other person u are comparing to has never played, insted of a 0% which could mean they have played it but never could acqired any trophies. Both are good, tho.

Playing and finishing games first>>>>>>>>>>Then talking!

Opinions are subjective and just like moods, can change.

TOP 12: Deus Ex, Shadow Man, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturn, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Metroid Prime, Zelda (series), Uncharted (series), FF Tactics, Persona (series), Demons Souls, Vagrant Story.

MOST WANTED: Deus Ex: Human Revolution, The Last Guardian, ICO/Shadow OTC HD

360 does the same thing, and always has... Every time one of you points out something that Sony just started doing with the trophies, you have to realize that the 360 launched with it years ago.

You can see that your friend has a five digit gamerscore, but then you can click on him and see that he's playing all crap games, or getting a bunch of small achievements in arcade games, rather than joining the "1000 Club" on major titles, and it's always told you whether your friends (or anyone you've ever been online with) played a game or not, showing their score as "--g" or "0g" to differentiate.

Sony is catching up, but they haven't got there yet.  If they can even get the "trophy case" into home properly, it will be a huge step up in the implementation.

Also: Someone's confused with this "I can't get achievements because I only have the free Silver memebrship..." nonsense.  Yes, there are games that have multiplayer-only achievements, but even many of those can be achieved by playing with real friends, in person.  Only the "ranked match" ones are specific to online vs. multiplayer.
