They made Hocus Pocus? I was so young when I first played that.

No, they just published it. It was developed by Moonlite Software:

Of course 3D Realms was called Apogee Software back then, back when this company was awesome.

well this is not a surpise. Working so damn long on a game does that to a developer.

I'm still shocked its happening :/ I hope its a publicity stunt

They were really far in the game development too, the video footage from last year looked amazing, as well as the screenshots, i could have sworn we were really close to a release date annoucement, of this holiday...

guess I was wrong :(

What video and screenshots are you talking about?  The only video I can remember seeing is the Christmas one they made which wasn't anything special and some incredibly low res screenshots that show nothing.

Don't get me wrong, I love Duke Nukem, but there's a reason the game has been in development for 13 years.

Theres been 2 videos and a couple screenshots (Sorry im not going to bother grabbing the links, no need)

Video #1 was the official teaser, of Duke lifting weights, which was high resolution... looked real good (the character models)

Video #2 was the Jace Hall show, which was low resolution, but doesn't matter... but Duke is more about interactivity, and in the video you can see pipe bombs being attached to enemies legs, you see Duke using the shrink gun, the weapon OSD, and a bunch of other stuff... and for seeing nothing for 12 years, thats pretty exciting stuff to any Duke fan

As far as screenshots, theyve released a few, I happen to have this one handy:

Theyve stated they wont release any news, screenshots, or videos until they are close to release... and all this was shown in the last year! Which makes me and tons of other people think the time is soo

Anyway, this is really sad news, especially since its been confirmed...

Were they not delaying duke nukem's next great hit because they were to busy Wold of war craft? I believe this is correct (It was on G4)

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Was my second response when i heard this from someone over msn not too long ago. My first was disbelief and off to google to search... and it seems like it's real.. ! Damnit ! I wanted to play duke nukem forever :(

Check out my game about moles ^

Duke Nukem Never Ever Forever Never Ever...........................................................

Of course its possible that the game will be picked up by a developer that is actually competent.

I mean 12 years, seriously? I'm amazed they lasted this long.

I'm I the only one they think they deserve it ??

12 - 13 years on one game is just ridiculous and the guys behind it are complete retards that doesn't deserve a job in the gaming business

I posted this in another thread, but I didn't see this one was here first. So for anyone who wants to read;

It's interesting to see how many things were done during the dev time for this game. I laughed when I saw the list of a certain video game franchise on there. =D

Hate to be mean, but that's what happens when you start the same damn game over again 4-5 times.

That being said, I still have the original Duke Nukem. This is a sad day. =(
