Forums - Microsoft Discussion - no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my hardrive died :-(

You should have used a memory card for your profile and important game saves. Hard drive for downloads, not so important saves and such. Since there are no moving parts, it's harder to go bad.

Of couse if you had one of these you could have backed up your whole hard drive to your PC.

thats sucks bud.

Shame it happened. Let's hope you learned your lesson for next time. Things can break, and a backup never hurts. I do the same with my PSP and PS3. Don't do it with my pc though and wii is too much covered in dust to bother. I should sell that one, and make someone happy with it and spend the money on booze and boobs.

PSN name: Gazz1979 (feel free to add me, but please put your Vgchartz name in the message!)

Battlefield 2: Gazz1979

no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. all my achievements, all my save filse. ALL MY PINATAS.

I think your achievements are safe on the profile server (you can re-import your gamercard)... sorry about the rest ....

i have never been on live with my main profile.(i only have dial-up)

So your achievements were never replicated ...

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

i really didnt care about the achievements that much. much more about saves, pinatas, and vehicles.

If you get a 120gb HDD you can get a data transfer cable driver for the PC and use xplorer360 to try and get your data back.

my stuff was never online, i do not see how i can get it back

It depends how dead your HDD is. The data transfer cable is just a usb adapter for your HDD, so you can (maybe)copy your data to your PC and then move it back to your new HDD.
