Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Forza 3 has a 2009 release date with 400 cars and 100 tracks.

According to the people at Fudzilla!

As we told you previously, Forza Motorsport 3 is coming to the Xbox 360. It seems that while we know that it is in development details of when Microsoft will officially announce it have been sketchy. Now, according to our sources, Microsoft is set to announce Forza 3 for a holiday release this year at E3.

From what our moles tell us, Forza 3 will cover two discs and offer over 400 vehicles and 100 different tracks to race them on. New graphics and car deformation will highlight some of the new enhancements over the previous version. In order to make the title more accessible, the game is said to feature an all new assist system to help those just starting out get the hang of the game.

From what we hear this could be the largest racing title ever produced for a console system. With two discs you could certainly have a lot to do, with over 400 vehicles and 100 tracks. We hear this will be the dream title for those who have been waiting for the definitive racing game. We look forward to the announcement by Microsoft at E3.

By the way, we continue to hear rumors of a video for Forza 3 that is making the rounds, but you will have to find it yourself, as it seems to be disappearing as fast as we can find a link to it.

Wow, thats pretty amazing stuff. I can't wait to find out what the new cars/tracks will be and whether or not you can install one of the discs to the HDD to avoid swapping if you want to use the extra tracks.

So what will become of this game? Will it be bundled straight away or will Microsoft wait until next year?

Will they advertise it heavily to spoil the GT5 launch and hopefully steal some of GT5s thunder or will they advertise a moderate amount based upon the expected sales of the game? Knowing Microsoft I probably shouldn't watch tv near release for fear of having to watch 3-5 advertisements for the game on the same night!

Isnt Gran turismo 5 going to be bigger then this game?

So doesnt that make it impossible for it to be the largest racing title produced for a console.

GT4 had over 700 cars according to Wikipedia, which makes that the bigger game, any idea how many cars for GT5?

Btw, I don't see anything that indicates I or Fudzilla said it would be the largest racing title produced for a console.

Edit: woops Fudzilla said that, but it does have twice the number of tracks and roughly 40% fewer cars so I guess it depends whether you're track or car orientated for racing games. Does anyone know the rumoured number of tracks in GT5?

What does 100 tracks mean these days?

In the old days that would mean 25 actual different tracks. Reverse them, gets you another 25 and then let them all be mirrored give you another 50.

In before the trolls ... oh :(

Fantastic we have a release date for this ... thank god we can shut up those annoying Sony fanboys claiming we have nothing announced ...

I guess we could have 10 announced and they would still nitpick

GT5 has been rumored to have 96 tracks and 600 cars but this could certainly increase

Or decrease, at the end of the day a rumour is a rumour.

I read somewhere that GT5 would actually come with about 300 cars but continue to get more.

Are they adding a cockpit view to Forza?
