The ones you listed are excellent choices, but my personal favorites would be Galaga, Ikari Warriors, Splatterhouse, Outrun and Gauntlet.

My top 5.......

(1) Mario Bros
(2) 1942
(3) Gun Smoke
(4) Commando
(5) Galaga

1) Tempest
2) Gauntlet 1 & 2
3) Centepede

I had Splatterhouse for the TG-16 :)  Another great game!

I seriously get sad when thinking of the The Golden Age of Arcade Gaming.

So many good arcade hall memories. :(

Yeah, but they were also bloody expensive. I wasted a fortune in the arcades back in the day.

I'm talking hardcore Arcade Halls here, with 50-100 different games, lot's of noise, lots of people. It was like a community. A 'community of gamers' taking a break from everyday life.

The tournaments , the competition, the snack food and soft drinks, all the bragging and joking among friends. Some arcades had pool tables and other things to do as well.
It was a cool place to hang out.

There are still some 'game centers' around these days, but it's just not the same.
