I found this on edge online and according to Iwata’s key note speech at gdc the wii has 73 one million sellers . If this is true then the wii is a bigger success than people realise! If true this also shows how unreliable vg can be when it comes to sales figures. To vg’s credit though it can be near impossible to get exact sales figures for games and I just wish games companies were more open with sales figures like the music industry for example.

A lot of games are missing European sales data and do not show up on the million sellers list. If you dig around a bit you'll see that the count could easily be much higher than the 41 you get from the million sellers page.

I think that is interesting to know that fact, at the same time that VGChartz ADJUSTS DOWN the numbers.

We have a bit better than half of that. I have to assume the 360 and PS3 software tracking is better, but who knows. Thats mind boggling to see such a huge disparity.

It's certainly possible, as Nintendo is assuredly using shipped (not sold) figures in that claim, and we lack good data for a lot of the smaller games in some regions. Good news for Nintendo if true.
