the reason your games don't sell its because they are not multiplatform.

This is sad.

If they actually made great RPGs and that greatness wasn't lost in shoddy localization, the western market would probably be much more interested in them.

I know I would. The idea of receiving western games from Square Enix because they can't make good JRPGs anymore really sucks. Even the 'western games would appeal more to western audiences' kinda offends me. Forget that. :|

Your sig is pretty much right on.

Person 1: Does Valkyria Chronicles have trophies?
Person 2:  No.
Person 1: Forget it. I'm not buying it.
Person 2: Wait! It's amazing! Unique, charming, drop dead gorgeous... Hello?

I think this gen SE will spend a lot of time adjusting. They're trying to cater to American/western audiences, while still maintaining their traditional fans.

Nope.  As I former Squaresoft fanboy, SquareEnix is an afterthought just off the radar.  It's been working its way towards there since the release of Final Fantasy X.

Western games do appeal more to Western audiences. Rule of thumb!

Besides, what if these games are hella awesome?

How about making some good games instead of trying to buy everything ?

Alright I broke down.Honestly, if they made great western games, I'd be happy, but I'd also think, "Man. This could be a great JRPG."

What about the Japanese audience? Are they being abandoned or ignored? Yes and this is why gaming is on a decline in Japan. The majority of Japanese developers are all focused on the west. They seem to be losing their originality and the quirkiness that made western fans want to play them and import them when they were not localized. It's a shame. Hopefully Square can get its act together and reach out to fans in Japan with some new RPGs and maybe a love sim or two to reignite the video games market in Japan. Do not leave Nintendo to try and do it on their own.

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba
