Forums - Nintendo Discussion - PES 09 Wii question

Hey, is there a way to use wiimote + nunchuk to play old school style for this game?  I have a gamecube controller but Konami doesn't support it, i don't have a classic controller, that's why i'm wondering.

Thanks

Not sure, but I doubt it.

Classic controllers are cheap enough though, and you shouldn't have to worry about them being second hand as there is not much important tech in them.

What's wrong with the new way to control it anyway? have you tried it?

Nope. You need a classic controller to play that way. It's only 12 quid.

@twroo

I have pes08, i prefer the old school controls. It's weird cause my favorite wii games are the ones with motion controls. Even in Galaxy, my favorite levels are the motion control only levels.

But I don't like the pes motions controls. No 2 player co-op. No control of defense. No control of shot (but i think this is fixed for new version).

I guess i will have to buy a classic controller tomorrow then. Is nintendo one good, or are there better ones?

You can play with Wiimote only.

U mean horizontally?  Like using the D-pad to move?

Get the classic controller just to be safe, instead of buying a third-party controller that might not work.

What about this?

It's wireless

The Nintendo ones won't fail you, which is why you can happily buy 2nd hand for cheaper than any 3rd party controller new, and they are still more likely to work.

As for that Nyko one, I think it looks awful myself in design terms, but as long as it is comfy and the buttons work (which can be a problem with 3rd party controllers) then sure buy it.

It actually, very unusually looks like it has a good d-pad, but I would ask around here if anyone else has got one and can confirm the buttons and control sticks work nicely.
