Well, the German figure is too low anyway.

You seem to be mixing total market value with software only value and console software only value. Mixing different years, and mixing different extrapolation methods. Exchange rates seem to be well out of date too. It's not really a fair comparison. Best to wait for GfK's ADESE 2008 report which will apply the same methods to all countries rather than mix and match wildly differing criteria.

Thanks BKK2... I was just about to comment that Germany is way too low whichever way you look at it.... they buy more consoles and console games than Spain by numbers by a decent margin (and add in that they have a much greater PC market... though I didn't realise it was bigger than the UKs)

No Ireland

Unfortunately not since 2004, hopefully Ireland will appear again this year. Anyway, Irish Software value was 7% of UK in 2004, and Irish Hardware units were 6% of UK. With a population of around 7% of UK we can pretty much extrapolate UK sales for Ireland based on population alone.

@Bkk2, Thanks :]

Killer - population doesn't equal revenue. Video games are a luxury item, so it's only fitting that if you have high population, but low discretionary spending, it causes issues. If we went by population, Russia and the Ukraine should be very high on the list, too.

 Actually Germany is one of the richest countries in Europe. It is more a cultural thing, videogames are not mainstream here. Still dealing with that nerd-image.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Interesting. I must have taken the German data from the wrong thread. Will correct.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

You are also missing Turkey :)

Turkey would be a great place to track. But alas, I have no data.

If anyone would like to find any of the 'others' area data, even if it's not Europe (such as the EMEA area, SE Asia, or other), I'd love to include it.
