Forums - Sales Discussion - MP3 wins the week

I believe that XB360 owners gauge everything like they were (bald space marines) shooters, except racers.
So, I don't expect good sales at all for Blue Dragon and other RPGs like Trusty Bell.
I'll see soon enough if I am wrong believing that.
This chart seems to show I'm wrong. I'm waiting for NPD charts.

You forgot sport. Madden is selling (very) good on the 360.

Carnival Games is the third best selling game on the wii?

For this week yes, but its the first week the game has been out so its expected to sell at least moderately well.

To Each Man, Responsibility

Bioshock definetly surprised me and I thought my 250k guess was pushing it too much. So maybe MP3 will surprise me but I still expect 500-600k in the first week. Expect it to hang around in the top til holiday season and get that extra boost.

Makes sense for MP3 to lead this week, after Bioshock released last week.

I still expect Bioshock to do more in week#1 than MP3 will. 360 has a larger install base (in the US), and more "hard-core" gamers own 360s than Wiis in general.

I'll be shocked if MP3 gets anywhere near 500k in week#1. Reports also have MP3 selling well - without selling out.
...

Can anyone from a retail store detail how many units they got for Bioshock/MP3, and how many were sold?

...

For reference, MP3 sold around 320k - in its first FOUR weeks - in the US. And that was a lot closer to the holidays (launched mid November).

I'd argue if anything, the Wii is undertracked on Amazon. So I think this even bodes well for MP3.

I just hope that Blue Dragon tracks better than what it has thus far according to some accounts. It's a phenominal game.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Initial sales reports for Blue Dragon & reviews don't seem that positive. Definitely doesn't make it seem like the killer-app it could be.

I think sales for it will be quite disapointing in the short & long term. Find out soon enough!

Wrong!!! reviews don't justify a game purchase.

Is it really mrstick? i played the demo and i know its terrible to go off of. But it was a little bit of a letdown, though i do hugley agree demos dont give much in t erms of entire game, so id really love to hear more. Im on the edge of buying this so i would really like to know.

@ everyone who said its having bad reviews, really based on what the reviewers like, this game is really a true jrpg, i mean truely, and not many western people like it. Game informer gave it a 9, and a second opinion of a 9. They stated that they really like jrpgs and thats why review was so high.

With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.

With all due respect to other's opinions, even as a jrpg fan, Blue Dragon doesn't hold my interest at all from what I've seen and heard about it. The battle system, music, graphic style, nothing I've seen of it even grabs my interest. Eternal Sonata, on the other hand, does. Lost Odessey, though, seems to be a disappointment from what I've seen of it. :-/

Nobody is crazy enough to accuse me of being sane.

We have yet to see new gameplay (besides trailer which dont count) since almost a year ago. Lost odyssey looks amazing, and will probably have a great story. Gameplay is the only iffy at the moment.

Unless you have played them can you truely know?
