Forums - Sony Discussion - PS3 Fans/Owners- Are you glad/dissapointed that Sony is in last place?

i don't really care..i just want wii to fail miserably

Not a 360 fanboy, just a PS3 fanboy hater that likes putting them in their place ^.^

Before I owned a PS3 (only bought about 3wks ago) I thought Sony in last place will be good thing for them.

Look what it did for nintendo.

As long as they hang in there and produce the goods they will be alright.

Now I own wiiPS3 (3x HW failures on x360 = I give up) I still feel the same.

It doesn't bother me where they finish as long as they make some $ with the PS3 over the next few years to keep the games coming.

So far this year looks good and I'm expecting better if not spectacular from them for the rest of it.

This makes me not really care if I had a PS3 or 360: http://news.vgchartz.com/news.php?id=3068

What would disappoint me would be if the PS3 got so far behind that third parties dropped support for it.

What I care about is playing great games!
Anyway, the actual situation makes Sony work harder so PS3 users benefit from it. They should be learning from some mistakes they made... and in spite of this, it is still the best home console out there.

Play my LittleBigPlanet level: Mystic Runner. Thanks!

A more objective queston would be: "Are you enjoying your PS3 eventhough it's in third place?"

Because as a gamer, it doesn't matter what place your console of choice is in as long as it's putting out the games you want.

I couldn't be happier that they are in last place. The Sony that came into this generation was led by men with little vision and overly cocky attitudes. The company did not have the gamers' best interests at heart. This helping of humble pie was exactly what they needed to get back on track. If they had their way and were first, I'm fairly certain we as gamers would not have had our voices heard nearly as much.

its always you xbox people mucking about in forum areas you should stay out of. so your opinio is they had little insight? yes. thats why this year alone will prove what sony have aimed for and that is to make the games on the ps3 stand out far and beyond the last 2 years. the exclusives alone far outweigh the xbox 360 (and dont throw in the xbox games which are on the pc because they arent exclusive in my book) so i take what you say with little respect. go flash your xbox sig somewhere else and leave the gaming competition you clearly detest alone.

What part of my post gave you the impression I'm not currently pleased with the way Sony is? I specifically mention that them being in last place has gotten them back on track to what their priorities should have been in the first place, the gamers. Maybe your selective memory has blocked out the bad design decisions and PR choices of 2005-2006 in particular, but I know that would have continued onwards had they managed to get away with it. Since Sony has been in last place, the following things I like have happened that I do not believe would have happened had they been in first:

1. Rumble was put back in to the controller.
2. Unveiling games to release day has been shortened greatly overall.
3. The PS3 price has been lowered substantially.
4. Sony has tightened the 1st and 2nd party situation into a well oiled machine.
5. The PSN tries considerably hard to give us competitors' features and basically whatever we ask for.

These are all things I don't think Sony would have prioritized or even bothered with had they not been in the desperate situation they are in now. The same way that Sega's desperate situation with the Dreamcast brought out the best damn 2 years of Sega gaming ever, and the best console gaming at the time, the same may be able to be said in the future about the PS3 if they continue to rise to the occassion while under this immense pressure.

If you can't comprehend any of this for some reason, trying taking out the capitalizations and punctuations, maybe misspell a few words and try again. Use it for my first post also so you can finally get a handle on what I'm talking about.

That's an interesting perspective.

A little off topic, but... what do you think of Microsoft and Nintendo, from launch day to the present, Onyxmeth?
