Forums - Gaming Discussion - UnReal Prediction *1* - Miyamoto's Death Will Kill Nintendo! (Vote In Poll)

miyamoto dieing will probably lead to the whole industry dieing..
miyamoto has carried this generation.
he was the inspiration behind both the wii and ds, wii sports, wii fit, wii play, nintendogs, brain age etc..

if it wasn't for his creations this generation wouldn't have expanded the way it has it would have shrank..

and the proof is in the numbers(npd)..
take the ds and wii out of the equation and you will see that this genertaion is smaller than last..

hello how are you.

A more relevant and perhaps pertinent question is whether and to what degree Apple would continue when Steve Jobs dies.

Mike from Morgantown

how is this more relevent??

as far as i know this is a gaming website and to the best of my knowlege apple is not a gaming company..

case be closed.. not so relevent.

PS. ipod and iphone dont count as gaming..

hello how are you.

But he is immortal…

@rolstoppable

then whats the reason?

Nintendo in an interview said they have 3 pillars

Home console....DS........Gameboy
____

two are functional.....where's the gameboy disappeared

The DS was a risk, because Nintendo couldn't know how well it would be received. It was different to previous handhelds and in case it failed to become successful, the Gameboy brand would not have been harmed. So in the beginning the DS and GBA were both supported. But since the DS became a big success, the Gameboy was quickly dropped. There's really no need for Nintendo to have two different handhelds at the same time. Either the DS succeeded and replaced the Gameboy or a new Gameboy would have been launched in case the DS failed.

rumer has it ( and i dont see why it isnt true) that nintendo had a new  system branded with the gmaeboy logo incase the ds had flopped//

Miyamoto had a large part in the development of these games, indeed but he did not came up with the blue ocean strategy all by himself. There are other visionary's studying under him who can carry on in the future.

@paerdiego

thats probably true as well cus in the beginning DS wasn't a success.

it was nintendogs that took it high

Wow, this seems really disrespectful.

@omega

disrespectfullness is really a "point of view"

I felt it was very disrespectfull of everyone to lambast & literally mock Ken Kutaragi everyday during early PS3 days.......despite miyamoto having made similar mistakes during the N64 era (he wanted cartridges for Super Mario 64)

besides its a prediction......not personal

Ok, this thread is a bummer.
I would cry my eyes out if Myiamoto died. He raised me more than my parents ever could.
But to answer the OP, no. Nintendo would go on. They have other people with talent, just no one as talented as he is.

Quem disse que a boca é tua?

Qual é, Dadinho...?

Dadinho é o caralho! Meu nome agora é Zé Pequeno!

Lord.

When Miyamoto dies it will be a blow to the entire industry as the primary creative force who has shaped the medium for twenty-five years will be gone.

It will not kill Nintendo. Miyamoto has many young directors who were basically cut from his cloth, and who will serve to carry on his legacy in the case of his passing. Aonuma alone.
