Forums - Nintendo Discussion - New Conduit Videos!!

Well A.I is nothing to brag about but I haven't found too many games anywhere where the A.I. in a shooter is something great unless they are cheap in like a really hard mode haha. But it's a larger step up from Red Steel which is good.

Graphics do look quite impressive and second only to Super Mario Galaxy right now. Very well polished which surprised me. Control custom ability is outstanding. Everything else about the game is pretty stereotypical but I'm sold on this title. Need a good Wii shooter, and for the first time, Wii may have a solid one that's exclusive aside from MP3. Day one for sure. Graphics look amazing (for a wii game) and the customize controls and hud are just awesome. The AI looks questionable but i wonder what difficutly setting he was playing on when recording. By the looks of things High Voltage software is going to deliver with this game.

Would the blurring of the backgorund while reloading just replicate how our eyes normally react? If anyones confused by what I mean, basically look at something really close to you (hand in front of your face) and you'll notice that the things in the background which you aren't focusing on become a bit blurred.

Pacman taught people to run around in dark rooms munching on pills while listening to repettive techno music and for that I somewhat idolise him.

Yeah, it's a nice attention to detail. I wouldn't be surprised to see other developers use that from now on in their first person games. You'll know The Conduit achieved something! =P

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

i am so getting this game.

I have an interesting question, how many of those things displayed in the second video have been done on the HD consoles?

I definately want this game. But what was the point of the first video? Showing some very early footage worse than anything previously released to how it looks now. Show me the original release video compared to now so I can see the difference.

Graphics has come a long way now! Envirements that I thought looked dull before seems to be sparkling with new life! Much of it is probably more details, better textures, more darkness and light sources. It will be one of the best looking Wii games when it comes out and I wonder if The Conduit will get more notable graphics improvements before release. Oh, and the sky is so beautiful! Some of the texture and designwork look very real for a Wii game.

Customization looks interesting. Something that I will play around with when I get the game. Moving the hud, playing with opacity and controls.

AI seems a bit dumb, but not necessary in a bad way. Hiding behind things, taking cover, moving to the sides, going right at the player shooting, moving backwards away from the player shooting, surprising the player from high up on a wall or roof or just being bad big and strong in the way of the player. At least some of the AI's can do more then one thing.

A note to those bitching about the AI: You haven't really seen it yet.

I'm not saying it will be good or bad, but the difficulty is going to be set to noob in any of these demonstrations. Nothing messes up a demo video like getting brutally cut down by enemy fire (except for that shot which shows off their death effects, obviously).

Best wait until reviews before judging the AI. I'm sure the folks at IGN will get a nice early review copy and stack it up against all the 360 shooters they've been playing.
