Regardless of wen a ps3 price of 300 will happen this year that will close the gap on 2nd place.

I would be surprised if it happens as early as April

Even if they're true, they might still hurt sales. For some reason Sony always denies price cut rumors.

I do remember those rumors about the 360, were they as widespread as these?

@NJ5 i agree the 360 ones were't as widespread. Of course sony would deny a price cut. "Consumers dont buy a PS3 yet, a price cut is coming *insert date*"
